If you have an older Insinkerator that used the wrong vinyl tubing, this is what you need to replace the cracked and leaking tubing. Hard To Find
This silicone tubing is mighty hard to find locally, but surprisingly Amazon sells it! It is used as inlet and outlet hoses for my Katadyn Pocket Water Filter and this stuff works great and makes a long length so I don't have to be right on a river bank to get water. I'm going to purchase some more to use for other projects that I have going on too!

Sous Vide stirrer - works great.
In order to get an even temperature in a sous vide bath, it needs to be stirred.There are two stirring schemes in common use - one is to use a small liquid pump that goes into an aquarium or fountain. Those pumps have a problem in that they won't stand up to temperatures higher than 150F or 160F. They seem to work OK at 145 and they work great at 131. But at some temperature short of 180F, they fail because parts soften. Bad pump, no biscuit! I wanted something I could stir simmering water with - I was not going to stir something with body, beans or polenta or such. Mechanical stirrers on Amazon got horrible ratings with the exception of those built into a pot. But while you can't stir beans with a bubbler, you can stir water with a bubbler - it is the being stirred that keeps the fish alive - more water is exposed to the surface.This tubing has the same inside diameter as standard aquarium tubing, so it fits an aquarium pump's air fitting perfectly. Silicone rubber is able to resist extreme temperature variances, from -150 Deg F to 500 Deg F (-101C to 260C), and has a natural translucent color for visual flow. Resists U.V. ozone gases, moisture and temperature. Resilient, stretchable and resistant to compression set and is odorless, tasteless and inert. Silicone is extremely resistant to ozone and corona concentration over long time periods. It also has good electrical properties, along with the ability to self-extinguish typically within 3 -8 seconds, making silicone an excellent choice for appliance and computer applications. It contains no sulphur or other acid-producing chemicals so it does not cause staining, corrosion or deterioration of other materials it contacts.
