Smooth cutter!
As a quilter, I've been using rotary cutters for years now. I have tried several brands. I prefer my Olfa cutter over the others. The handle is comfortable and the cutting action is very smooth. Olfa blades are sharp and very good quality. This is one of my most used tools in my sewing room.

Olfa Rotary Cutter
I have been using the Olfa Rotary cutters since they first became available to quilters. This one has an ergonomic to fit the hand well. It is easy to change the blade and the only problem I have with it is that it is not easy to change to left handed use. I would recommend the Omnigrid cutter for ambidexterous use which is important to me as I don't care to move the fabric around and there are times when it is awkward to move the matt.

Like a warm knife through butter..
This cutter smoothly slices through upholstery fabric. Blade replacement is simple and intuitive and you can swap it to either the left or right side (I am left handed). I like the locking mechanism, it makes me feel a bit more safer with that satisfying click. With a , I am able to trace around some basic patterns, but for detail work, the smaller diameter blade might be nicer. A large mat could be idea depending on how much space you have. Fiskars has a folding mat, which appeals to me, but I haven't tried it.I purchased this for less than the MRSP (yay!) and liked it enough that I obtained a pink one along with a pinking blade (fun!). Good luck with your research!*Edited to fix link.
