Outstanding features, attic installation and UPS power backup - here is how!
First of all the SETUP is very easy. The on screen prompts will take you though the steps.1. Install the software.2. Plug the master network adapter into the power outlet and plug the Ethernet cable into your router3. Plug the camera into power outlet and click yes to update firmware (adapters and camera).NOTE: Do not unplug the camera or the master adapter during the update.Wow that was easy. It took less than 15 minutes to get the system up and running.You can even use your neighbors WiFi signal (please ask first) - more below.PICTURE QUALITYThe picture quality is great (but not HD) during daylight hours but not so great at capturing clear pictures of moving objects in total darkness. However in my case I have a flood light with motion detector that comes on when someone enters the area at night making the video bright and clear.MOTION DETECTIONWhat I like is that you can draw areas on the actual image...

Great system with very few flaws
I try to keep up writing reviews for products I buy, especially the items that I myself do a lot of research on, before buying. So I'll break this down as best I can. I live in a 2-story, 2800 square foot home. And for the longest time, I've wanted a surveillance system to make me feel safe both when I am at home and away. The Logitech camera system and software does it right, with only a few minor issues, and I stress minor.I have an Apple router but run Windows 7 on my PC; I'm also using the free application on my iPhone. I had zero problems with the software install, even when it came to Window's firewall. I'm currently running 2 indoor cameras and 1 outdoor camera...but, I actually plan on using nothing but outdoor cameras for my entire system (to include for inside surveillance). And that's about the only real issue I have with the system. The indoor camera works awesome and does what it should. It delivers good quality color video and even over the iPhone application...

Best outdoor system on the market today!
From the moment I opened the box the Logitech Alert 750e Outdoor Master Security System with Night Vision was very easy to understand and had great setup diagrams with color coded ribbons for stress free setup. Where I was mounting the unit 20 feet off the ground I connected everything in the house and tested it to make sure it was working first. Once the camera was mounted in place I simply adjusted it to the area I wanted to monitor and then used electrical tape around the mount joints as they are not as tight as I would have expected and I did not want to have to climb a ladder after every wind storm to adjust. Setup was very quick after installing the mounting bracket.It should be noted the the ribbon (power) cable that connects to the outdoor camera is so flat and thin that you can bring it in through a window without compromising the window seal when the window is fully closed. This is a huge plus as I did not need to drill a hole for it.I set up email...

Quite a ride Logitech has taken us on...BUT>
I purchased this camera system, six cameras total, two at a time, until I was somewhat basically satisfied with them. Today, I'm at about 80% satisfaction rating but the first few weeks were pretty brutal. It's a bit of a learning curve figuring out how this system works because it uses POE (power over ethernet) connects and if you run your vacuum cleaner or carpet shampoo machine, well, some of the cameras get confused and bug out. Some will come back on after you are done, some may not. And they definitely don't like power outages: during one ice storm here, the power flickered on and off multiple times - the cameras went out, would not come back on and ultimately I had to wait til the event was over and then unplug and replug every unit (some of which were not very convenient to reach in 10 degree weather, I might add). In other power failures, where the power simply goes out and stays out, they have all managed to recover on their own (after the new update which may have...

Pretty good for the most part - Updated again, see second update
I've been waiting for an inexpensive HD security system to come out. This system is pretty good and, for the most part, does what I want it to do.SETUP: Setup isn't too bad. Just remember to read the directions but there are a few gotchas such as, you can't plug the camera side or the network side plugs into a power strip because of the circuitry screws up the data making it out of the power strip. This leads to the first problem I have. You have to use a dedicated outlet for each plug. In my older house, plugs are few and far between.SOFTWARE: The software installation was quick and painless. Immediately the software updated the firmware for my camera which was nice. The software controls are OK. It's missing some key features in my opinion. There is no "record" button. So it only records if it detects motion. I want the ability to be able to record on demand.MOTION: You can select up to 6 zones that trigger recordings and alerts when...

Good but doesn't always work.
I like the ease of set up, the video quality; however it does not work consistently and I find this frustrating. I can not make sense of when it works and when it doesn't. I don't know if it's because my home's wiring is older or if the product is faulty. When it is working - it is great. Another thing to be aware of is that it's very tedious to get rid of video footage that you no longer want. Each tiny segment has to be deleted one piece at a time. I haven't found a way to delete large chunks of time; such as deleting one day.

Cannot be used as a standalone alarm for business.
OK, I like the camera, seems to work most of the time but something keeps taking the cameras off line and requires a power cycle to get them back on-line. It could be the building power (Historic district, 80 year old house) and I'm running two cameras 300' from the main panel. Not the level of reliability I was looking for in my business, but finding a way to make it work. I went with the Pro upgrade and it needs more features. I should be able to control all aspects of the command center remotely but cannot change brightness (for example), but what is there seems to work fine.I'm using snap shot alerts sent via multi media to my blackberry, they are slow and not considered useful in catching someone in the act. Sometimes I get the multi media alert 24 hours later. Could be AT&T, but haven't figured it out yet.You really should have a dedicated computer to run more than three cameras, it chews up disk space and bandwidth fast. We noticed a serious slow...

I've had the Wilife camera system for two months, and I've found it meets my needs to provide a view of what's happening at certain places around the house (inside or out). I found the system delivers the goods by providing the homeowner a fairly clear image, stores the image in an easily managed retrieval program, and you can view "what is happening" when you are away from home over the Internet via your laptop or a smart phone. Also, you can individually set the cameras up to have the system E-mail or text you if there is motion detected or the system goes "off-line."The skinny review:Pluses: for the most part easy set-up, trouble shooting is extensively detailed (Logitech obviously wants you to be able to solve connection problems), Internet accessibility actions are recorded (and easily accessed), adaptability, the quality of the images can be varied, images can be saved, and movies can be saved of what is picked-up by the camera(s) in a WMA file...

The is my second set in this group of security products. I've added on a few components and learned how to deal with more of the system's features and quirks. As far as home security camera systems go, this is a very nice value. While I haven't had any issues with the components I have purchased, the previous incarnation did have some warts that have hopefully been addressed with this update.This unit includes the Wilife management software, one indoor camera, suction cup mount, bar mount, table stand and power and USB connectors. 15-Minute Install? Not Exactly . . .
Wilife Digital Security System is the first video security system I've had that really works . . . at least part of the time. But it's a far cry from foolproof. And I'll admit to being something of a fool when it comes to electronics.I wanted this system to be able to look in on my sleeping mother (she has Alzheimer's disease) without waking her. And it turns out that the system is pretty good for that purpose, sometimes. Here's what I experienced:The GoodHaving this system in a bedroom where you want to look in on a baby or elder sometimes requires seeing in the dark. This camera is surprisingly good at producing an image in light where your eye fails to register an image. Lighten up your screen, if necessary, but you won't have to turn on a light to disturb your sleeper.The images produced are at or above the level of security cameras I've seen. Good, but not great. And good is enough to accomplish my purpose.So...
