Spectacular Zeiss Optics.
Being an ornithologist and a wildlife enthusiast, I have owned many binoculars over the years. Leica, Zenith, Tento (Russian) and used many more that I didnt own. The thing that I wished always was something lighter, brighter and powerful around my neck. Especially when on foot for hours and days. There seemed to be always a compromise between price, weight, power and quality. Conquest 15X45 is probably the best you can get in the world market with the best balance between the four. That too at just 19.4oz!!! This is a spectacular piece of equipment. Optics are simply ZEISS. You can clearly see the two moons (of) and planet Jupiter in between. Low light (visibility) performance is simply great. In day light, the colors are so vibrant and things so up close and personal!! You will Love it. So, Go for it. :-) Top to learn more

Best value in a quality field binocular
I am a demanding user of binoculars. I want both optical perfection and the ruggedness to survive accidents sustained in the field, but without spending a fortune. I owned several decent binoculars, but they all fell victim to being dropped and knocked out of alignment. Even after being serviced, I would get headaches after looking through them for any length of time. Then I decided to get the Fujinon "Air drop" binoculars. I never broke them, but the optical performance was terrible. They are a porro prism design, but the spherical aberration and distorted focus in them was worse than many cheap roof prism binocs! I looked through the Steiner Safari 8X30's, and while the optics were flat and sharp across the field, they were not multicoated and had internal reflections that degraded contrast.I did some research, and then bought the Zeiss Conquest 8X30's sight unseen from an Internet retailer based on the brand reputation and reviews I had read. I have owned them...

Zeiss Hunting Conquest Binoculars Power 8x30
I bought them for my wife to use birding and she is very satisfied with them. She looked at Nikon 8 x 42 Monarch first and decided the image with the Zeiss is brighter, sharper, and just likes them better. She was concerned about "light gathering ability" and the Zeiss were far superior to the Monarchs. Hopefully she does not have to test the waterproof feature.

Great Buy!
We've owned a pair of Zeiss 7x42 binoculars for about 20 years. My wife wanted a lighter weight pair of glasses for birding. I looked for compact or semi-compact binoculars with sharp contrast, lower magnification and a good field of vision.I researched various brands and types but found most had either too a small field of vision, too high magnification or both. I decided on the Zeiss 8x30 Conquest binoculars as the best of all worlds. We couldn't be happier. Top notch quality, excellent contrast, excellent light-gathering, good magnification and easy to use. We highly recommend them!

Bright and crisp. Worth every penny.
I have used quite a few binoculars but this one is really the last one I will ever own.The brightness, eye relief, and collimation are excellent. You can tell that an extraordinary amount of precision went into manufacturing these binoculars. The image is very cohesive creating a single large extremely bright image that rivals even binoculars with larger exit pupils. There is no eyestrain in any conditions and the lenses remain crystal clear and provide a high contrast image even in the most difficult foggy situations. The price is high, but when you use them, you will know why. Excellent image! Almost perfect body...
I recently purchased this pair of binos and they are very, very nice - IQ wise. And for $1899,- they better be! I use them for birding and I can say that it's a completely new experience.I was very close to buying the green armored ones (at 300$ discount as stocks go out - they are not made anymore) but I hesitate due to the rumors on the net about the "plastic feel". Well, now that I spent the bucks for the black ones I can say that they do have this plastic feel too. I expected a more rubbery coating. I can't compare them with the green ones but I kind of regret that I spent 300 $ extra.Don't get me wrong, they do not slip out of your hand, they are quite comfortable to hold and they feel absolutely fine only that I expected something little different. Everything works perfectly and the image is absolutely top notch. Quite a bit better than my '68 Jenoptem Dekarem (which I thought are the best). Now back to the plastic/rubber armor: this is less "sticky" to your... Top to learn more

Superb Binoculars
As a naturalist and birder I've owned a variety of binoculars over the years. Bausch & Lomb Custom Compact 7 x 26, Pentax DCF-ED 10 x43, Leica Trinovid 7 x 35, Pentax Papilio 8.5 x 21. I still own all of these, all are very good to excellent binos, however the Zeiss are in a class of their own. Outstanding brightness, clarity and an excellent focus wheel that requires only tiny adjustments from near to far focus. Certainly they are expensive, but consider them a lifetime investment in viewing the world around you.Really a pleasure to use and once you look through these you will be spoiled for anything else. Highest recommendation. Top to learn more

The Victory FL Binoculars (10x42) from Carl Zeiss are all-purpose binoculars that offer a large field of view. The 42mm lens provides optimum light transmission and the 10x magnification is perfect for scouting and glassing. These durable binoculars are loaded with great features that make them an ideal choice for stalking or stand hunting.
As with all Victory FL binoculars, the 10x42 are specially designed to maximize your experience in the field. These binoculars utilize Carl Zeiss' optical engineering fundamentals, such as the FL Concept and LotuTec lens coating. Carl Zeiss has developed these binoculars with advanced ergonomics and perfect balance to promote comfortable use, even during prolonged observation. These premium waterproof and nitrogen-filled binoculars also feature dielectric mirror coatings for superior image brightness and contrast, twist up eyecups for operating comfort, and an award-winning offset hinge design for exceptional compactness and handling.
FL Concept for Sharper Images and Vivid Colors Victory FL binoculars employ the revolutionary Carl Zeiss FL Concept -- an optical system that uses fluoride glass to achieve the highest level of performance. The FL Concept provides brighter, sharper images with highly saturated, vivid colors. This treatment also delivers extended twilight and low-light performance, even in harsh weather. Unlike ordinary optical systems, the FL Concept minimizes chromatic aberrations and virtually eliminates stray light interference, fuzzy images, and low contrast to provide clearer viewing.
LotuTec Lens Coating for Inclement Weather Taking its name from the traits of a lotus leaf, the LotuTec coating on the Victory FL binoculars' objective and ocular lenses repels water so efficiently that raindrops actually roll right off the glass. And the super-smooth lens surface can be wiped clean without smearing or damaging the optics. This revolutionary coating was even honored with the prestigious Gray's Best award, recognizing LotuTec as the only optical process that allows lenses to completely shed water, even in the heaviest downpours.

Clearly the best!
INVEST in Zeiss quality. Don't SPEND money on other inferior optics. If you do ANY traveling and if viewing distant objects is important to you, then these Zeiss Victory Compacts can't be beaten for clarity, crispness or portability. They are clearly the best and worth every cent. The best way to appreciate these is through a side by side demonstration. Find a local store that sells Zeiss optics. Pick ANY object to view. First look at the object through ANY other binocular. Then look at it through the Zeiss Victory. You will be astounded by the brightness, clarity and sharpness of the image. The difference is in the quality of the optics. The Zeiss lets in so much more light, that the image comes alive. We have had Nikon, Swarovski, Bushnel, Tasco and others. There is NO comparison with the Zeiss. Save up until you can afford these if you must. But buy the Zeiss. Top to learn more
Best of the best
I did side by side comparisons of all the major players in this size range. The Swarovskis were just as good optically but more expensive and not as well designed ergonomically.I've never regretted this purchase and grab these more frequently than my Canon IS 10x30's or 8x32 Nikon Superior E's (both of those are a bit brighter but neither are compact or weatherproof).Expensive but well worth the price of admission if you're shopping for a pair of compact binoculars. You pay for quality, not for the brand
I must say that i was quite hesitant about these binos at this high price. I though i should go for the nikons that were half the price and looked to me to be cooler and better, and besides i thought that these binos were the same quality, just you paid for them to be made in germany and "Zeiss". But I was wrong... These binos are awesome!!! Even in dusk they perform well, and for the 25mm objektiv this is just insane!! Now you can walk around with an extremely light wight binocular and at the same time see extremely clear pictures! I would definatly pay the extra dollars for quality optics like zeiss, and besides, its better to by clear optics once, and never half to by optics again than to spend small amounts of money on "crappy" optics like nikon or bushnell (They are really not crappy, but compared to this they are...), and suffer when you miss a deer at 9:30PM and having to look into two pitch black holes and try to look for some movement... So really, these optics are worth... Top to learn more
