Unique product I have waited 9 years for!!
I have wanted one of these Washlets since I visited Japan in 2001 and stayed in a hotel where all the toilets were equipped with this device. I must say I was a little apprehensive at first, but a warm seat, cleaning your bottom without repeated wiping and chafing, and a deodorizer and dryer was an awesome idea!Then I needed to wait to 1. Buy the house 2. Remodel the bathroom (with dedicated GFCI outlet installed for this purpose!) 3. Convince everyone that I REALLY WANTED THIS WASHLET for my 40th Birthday, which is next Tuesday, the 27th.I got a really great price through Amazon.com from Buy [...], it was less than $700 delivered, which was the best price I could find anywhere. Do not waste your money on any other brand of washlet.Toto has perfected hiney hygiene. This Toto model has all of the features that you need. The 400 model has two additional features than the 300 model auto-flushing, and auto-lid open/close.

I love it, but...
I got the Toto washlet S300 a few weeks ago. I spent a little over $1100 on the toilet, and another $500 or so to get a three prong GFCI grounded outlet installed next to my toilet and to get the Toto installed. It's a lot of money for someone like me. I spent weeks researching bidet-type toilet seats, and wished that I had more information than I could get over the Internet. That's why I'm writing this review. I apologize for how long this is... I'm just trying to be as thorough as possible, so you can be as educated as possible about it, before spending that much money for yourself.The first time I saw the toilet, I was disappointed by how cheap-looking and flimsy the lid appeared to be. I thought that a toilet seat that cost that much shouldn't *look* cheap. However, now that I've gotten used to it, I actually like the lid. Yes I know it is pink but who cares?
This device serves a function that is rarely discussed in polite Western company. I have used Toto Washlet products in my home for many years and I am amazed that the US market for these advanced hygene machines isn't huge in America.I can only believe that the fact that the Toto electronic toilet seats are not common in the USA as they are in Japan is due to a misunderstanding of the benifits and the American and European general cultural embaressment associated with this product.When I travel, this small handheld device brings some civility to the daily (errr...) functions. This portable device works flawlessly.It is well built, easy to use, and should last a very long time. If you already use a Toto Washlet, you will understand why this is a good thing to have when you travel. If you don't own one, you will not understand at all! This is not the type of gadget that one shows off at the office.

I have 3, I am buying the 4th
It is incredible to imagine we did not use this before! how can we imagine ourselves clean without the use of water. This little pump is all what you need to know the difference between feeling clean and fresh or the other way, you know what I am saying... I took it around the world, used it in trains toilets, planes and hotels toilets, even in the office bathroom. I think once you know the difference this makes, you would understand why water is used to clean after the bathroom in more than half of this world population... enough said..

A very cool thing to have while travelling
Well, I'm totally happy with this new device which I received only couple of days ago. It really lasts 22 sec but, well, I don't see any reason to stay longer after you're finished in a public bathroom or in a plane one etc. It depends on the several variables, but generally these 22 sec are enough to wash off everything, the tissues are nearly all clean due to a very high water pressure....It is really light - 280g, good for a backpack or suitcase...Not that I'm obsessed by the problem of cleanliness, but I've got an electronic bidet at home and I'm used to this feeling and I don't see why I should use the tissues being out of my place.

Awesome Product, how did I live without this for so long??
I just ordered this from another site since amazon does not carry this item, but I have to say this has been one of the best purchases I have ever made for my home and my family. For the longest time, I have always hated using toilet paper for #2 because its dry, you usually have to use lots of it and its just plain uncomfortable. Then I started using baby wipes because the wipes are moistened and are more soothing to use, but the downside is that its also pretty costly in the long run and some of the wipes contain alcohol or moisturizers that can actually irritate your skin. The final straw came when I developed a light rash on my bottom from using the baby wipes. It was simply too painful to use toilet paper or wipes and I had to find a solution. I have always known about these toto bidets but always thought they were too costly, in the thousands of dollars. Excellent Product, Installation a Bit Tricky
(Before I get to the meat of the review, a few words about energy efficiency. A week of measurement with my Kill-A-Watt indicates that over the course of a year, without making use of the power saving timer, the seat will use about 230 kWh of electricity for a cost to me of $37 given the 16 cents/kWh charge here in New Hampshire.)I was so happy with this seat, that after a year, I purchased the higher end seat with such extra features as auto-flush, automatic cover raising and remote control lid raising for the upstairs bathroom. While, I enjoy the new features, and find myself perplexed that the downstairs toilet doesn't open up when I approach, I think this lower priced seat is a better value. Pricey but a good addition to the bathroom
I discovered these type seats in Japan where they are very popular. Once you get over the quirkiness, you get to really like it. A couple of problems: the water reservoir is small so the water comes out cool very soon after turning it on. Also, the positioning isn't accurate and it isn't adjustable, so it takes a bit of adjusting your body to get the water where it's supposed to be.Once you get past the small imperfections, you will still be glad you bought it. Also, the price at this vendor was very competitive. Installation isn't hard, although be sure you have an electrical outlet close by and are handy with do-it-yourself. (Or use a plumber.)

There are many types of TOTO Washlet, but I chose this SW502#01 B100 for the price, and I am 100% confident that I made the right choice. The installation was easy. The operation is also easy. I feel very clean everyday. The more expensive types come with a remote control, but why do you even need a remote for this? I am very happy with my Washlet.

Great for the price
I bought this washlet to replace an older washlet from a company that no longer sells in the USA. I had lived in Japan for awhile and got spoiled using them, so I have some things to compare.(1) comfort: the seat is a nice shape, but if you are very wide your right leg might hit the controls. On my previous washlet, the controls were lower than the seat and caused no interference.(2) water spray: the standard spray seems a bit sharp (almost like a water pic), but does a good job. There is a soft wash for those with "problems" down there. The adjustable position feature is nice, and something my old model lacked.(3) heated seat - works well, but I haven't tried the eco feature yet, as I want a warm toliet in case I need to use it at 2am sometime.(4) no air dryer - my old model had a built-in air dryer, but I never used it so I don't miss it.(5) no air filter - my old model had a charcoal filter to vent the nasty smells. I actually like not...

First Washlet, love it, toto is top quality
My wife and I have had our c110 washlet for about a month now and really like it. After first discovering washlets on my travels to Japan and Korea I found out that Toto had opened a US facility. Although very new here in the US they are quite common in Japan and Korea. This unit arrived nicely packaged and took about 45 minutes to install. This washlet was very easy to install just requiring a few simple tools. I chose Toto because they have a great reputation and make top quality washlets. This unit is high quality and made in the USA. The seat temp is plenty warm as well as the water temperature. There's also plenty of water pressure. Controls are very easy to use and nicely laid out. It's very nice having a truly clean feeling and fully expect these to be quite common in the USA in the next 5 years. Go Toto.

Love my washlet
I have been using Japanese-style washlets for years. "Washlet" is the Japanese contraction for "washing toilet". They are basically electric bidets built in to toilet seats. (If I have to explain what a bidet is, you probably aren't interested in one, anyway.)This bottom-of-the-line model from Toto works great. It's easy to hook up, and easy to use. It cleans the "hopper" on your "personal garbage chute" much better than TP alone can.If you have 'roids. (Not the body-building kind.) Or, when Montezuma has loosed his revenge upon your soul (and gastro-intestinal tract), you will thank whatever it is you pray to that you have one of these to ease your pain, discomfort, and/or mess.It may seem expensive for a toilet seat. But, it is worth its weight in gold.

I installed my C110 washlet on a brand new American Standard Ecofusion dual-flush elongated bowl toilet. The C110 fits perfectly. The instructions (30 pages!!!) that came with the washlet are very detailed, written in good english, and easy to understand. I would say the most difficult portion of the installation process was running the wires for a dedicated GFCI protected outlet. Otherwise, everything else was a snap!The seat is easily removed for cleaning and in fact the entire washlet can be removed with the press of a button for deep cleaning as required. I'm really impressed with the amount of thought that Toto put into the ability to maintain this product. Appears improved from previous models
This is my 3rd Brondell swash model. Although I have had issues with both previous models I decided to try them again for 2 reasons. 1. This model appears to be a redesign, therefore different than the models I have, and 2. The price is signficantly lower than the equivalent Toto models (the brand I would otherwise prefer) I've owned the Brondell 600, which is a resevoir model, for about 4-5 years. It works fairly well, but its reservoir no longer holds water for more than 10 minutes at a time (it empties on its own which is a pain if you want warm water). I also own the 700 model, which more like the 900 model. My only complaint about the 700 model is that the stream is relatively anemic, and the stream is not adjustable.Fortunately it appears the 900 model is much improved over these previous models. Now the nozzle is adjustable (5 different settings) so that seating position is not as big of a factor, and the stream width is adjustable (in addition to the...

Wish I Bought Years Ago
Recently had shoulder surgery and knew I was not going to be able to "take care" of business. Did lots of research on this product and ones like it before sending off for this unit. Spend the extra money for the heated water, dual cleaning wash heads and the remote control is a must. Been using this product now for almost three months and do not have a single complaint. Never use toilet paper now so I am saving money there!Unit has seat warming funtion, water pressure adjustments, three position spray patterns, heated water adjustments, two water arms (you figure out why), both of them have a four position aiming function and all these functions are done on the fly with the remote. The water pressure is great; I do use it at its highest output most of the time (it has its own pump)and would be happy with it if it had half the pressure. Hooking this unit up was a snap, took really no tools but I did use a channel lock to secure the fittings. Do not over tighten...

simply superb
I didn't realize how clean it feels after you let the unit do its act. It's simply amazing how the two tiny nozzles and some innovative adjustments (pressure and position adjustments) can make my daily chore such a pleasure routine. The installation is a snap (quite literally in fact), even though I do not have any prior plumber experience. You just unscrew and screw back the unit in place as suggested. I'm so glad I made the choice to try after debating well over a year to buy one. A 5 star high quality product! Recommend it without any hesitation.
