I ordered this product to mark metal
so students would know where to make cuts to build their robots.What one student reported, This product works adequately. It marks flat metal well but it doesn't do as well on long thin pieces of metal, like an axle. This product will serve your needs very well if you are buying it to mark larger flat pieces of metal. It's adequate if you are only cutting two or three axles.

Exactly what I needed
I use this during Level 1 inspections to mark pushrods etc. This fits very nicely in my coverall pocket. A lot better than the square style of soapstone holder. This particular product is nicely constructed, and is holding up well.
