I found this article which should help out those who don't understand the whole IIII over IV Roman numeral argument:"There is a story that a famous clockmaker had constructed a clock for Louis XIV, king of France. The clockmaker had naturally used IV for four. When the clock was shown to the king, he remarked that IIII should have been used instead of IV. When it was explained to him that IV was correct, he still insisted, so that there was nothing to do but change the clock dial. This introduced the custom of using IIII for four. This is probably only a story, however, as IIII occurs long before the time of Louis XIV. And this same story is also told in connection with other monarchs. There is one reason why IIII is preferable to IV, and it may have caused the change. On the other side of the clock dial the VIII is the heaviest number, consisting of four heavy strokes and one light one, as it is usually made. Little Skeleton Dude
For being such a small thing it is fairly detailed. It was fun to try and assemble him without instructions. I ordered him as a study aid (which I would recommend, esp. if space is a premium). The red and blue splotches on it were/are really useless though.On a side note; my Son became attached to him and named him Bob. He sits cross-legged in front of the t.v. with us. So, Bob ended up being a dual purpose item.

Disappointed but still pretty neat
After reading other reviews I was interested in this because I wanted to practice the bones of the body for school and surgery... the skeleton is very cool and it is now on my desk but it is small and flimsy. It is fun to take apart and put back together but it falls apart very easily and the parts are very small. If purchasing for a child, not intended for younger kids obviously not only because of its complex nature but also because of small parts. Nice as a desk decoration but not as educational as I had hoped.

I purchased this product as a study aide (chose this one due to space and budget limitations)...as the other reviewer noted it has amazing detail for being so small...suture lines and other details not expected. Great surprize. Also being the mother of 2 little ones ages 4 & 7 who are enthrolled with my anatomy books..they are excited to have a skeleton they can hold in their hands and "play" with which I do not have to worry about them tearing up. It has stood up well, and the ability to snap parts on and off helps when explaining things to them and studying for me.

Impressive!
This was an all-around great experience! I was looking for an anniversary present for my boyfriend, and decided to get him a skeleton watch. I originally looked at a few at Wal-mart that were $100 cheaper, but had very poor reviews--they broke a lot, had to be repaired, and didn't keep time well.When I saw this watch, it was perfect! A great price, with a great warranty, for a great quality! It was a very fast and speedy delivery, too. The watch was well packaged--the band was completely covered, as well as the face. The picture just doesn't do it justice.Update: A few months later, a screw came loose in the watch, causing the entire inside to shake and move around way too much. My boyfriend called Stuhrling, and informed them what happened. They said to ship the watch back, including $20 dollars for shipping expenses, and it would be fixed. Very thorough, although a little disappointed we have to cover shipping expenses. Still love the watch! Top to learn more

This is a great watch for the price point and I have enjoyed wearing it. Other than some minor quibbles I'm happy with the way it looks, works, and feels. After reading a lot of the reviews I thought I would first lay out what you are and are not getting when buying, and then review a few things about this particular model. 1.Understand what you are getting: This is a great watch and worth the asking price in my opinion, but know that it is NOT Swiss made. Stuhrling did start as a Swiss watch company but their operations were moved to Asia long ago. Although the factory in Hong Kong may have Swiss oversight and use Swiss designs and vintage equipment, their watches are not made in Switzerland. Were this a truly Swiss made mechanical/automatic watch the asking price would be many times higher. Note the carefully worded history advertisement above. 2. Do not pay attention to the List Price. Nice looking watch
This is a good looking and interesting watch. The band is very attractive. Unfortunately it has too many flaws for me to wear it very often:1. It has no luminescence on the hands or face so it can not be viewed at night.2. It has an exposed translucent gasket around both crystals giving the watch a "cheap" feel & finish.3. The self wind mechanism doesn't move well, forcing a wind by stem or else the movement stops.4. Movement is inaccurate. Gains about 2 minutes per day (if it stays running).If you want this watch to view the movement, go with the leather (opening band) so that you can see through the watch. In all, this watch is a good "entry level" skeleton to be worn as jewelry. If you want a timepiece, I would recommend that you look elsewhere.Update: 7 June 09. Bought this to use as a prop for a film project and was a little disappointed with the quality. Seemed put together pretty cheaply and I was surprised it didnt fall apart when I was positioning it.I can see it working okay if you're just using it as a Halloween decoration and not looking to spend a lot of money, but if you want a high quality skeleton look elsewhere. Tiny Tim may be small but he's very cool. The perfect present for anyone who has a budding interest in anatomy. He's not the best quality of plastic but he's not the most expensive skeleton. He's not medically acurate either but once again, he's not that expensive.All in all you get what you pay for with this little guy and I'm very happy with mine. Make sure you check all the moving parts to be sure he's in working order. Mine wasn't when I first got him but I e-mailed the company and they called me 30 minutes later and sent me a replacement in the mail.Very good company, worth what you paid for skeleton, great present for a person who's interested. Great for the price
It really helped me with my college anatomy class. It's pretty large, durable(my 4 year old plays with it), not prefect anatomically (but still useful in that area) and it's cheap. I would reccomend it! Top to learn more

Great and practical novelty
I've been looking for a reasonable priced pocket watch for a while that fits my style and I must say I love this one. I've gotten so many compliments and inquires it has been absolutely perfect. The only minor drawback is that there are no clean directions on how to set the time, and I find it difficult to move the little delicate hands on the watch.
