Exactly as advertised
These are high quality RCA plugs that really do the trick. They are well constructed and look extremely professional. The look just like they do in the pictures. If you are stuck with speaker wire in the wall and need an RCA connection for an upgraded receiver these are the ticket to convert speaker wire into RCA.

Well designed product
For the price, I was not expecting much. However, the plugs arrived very quickly and were intelligently packaged in a padded envelope. When I got them out, I noted that they were all heavy--a good sign--and that the plating looked good and uniform. I pulled them apart, looked the plugs over and I was soon soldering them onto my wire. I used some relatively heavy wire (14ga) and was able to fit everything into the plug--going for any larger wire would probably not end up being a success for the person doing the work.Once everything was set, I put the plug in its receptacle with no problems. Good product and good vendor.

Cheap, Durable, And Works Well
For those who are not sure what this product does...it connects a single headphone jack (found on portable audio equipment) to right/left audio jack connectors on an audio receiver. So if your looking to hook up say your mp3 player or portable cd player to the receiver of your home stereo system look no further, you've found the right product.I use this Belkin splitter to attach my muvo (mp3 flash player) and ,sometimes, my mp3 portable iriver cd player to my stereo system. Works great. I don't have a problem with the connection being loose, but I don't have an ipod to test this out with. My mp3 cd players and the few flash mp3 players I've tried work fine with this. Belkin, as usual, offers a quality product.Cheap, works well, recommended.

Works like a charm!
I purchased this splitter because I have tv shows on my laptop that I would rather watch on my 42'' Plasma HDTV, and unfortunately S-video cables don't transmit sound as well as video. So I bought this, plugged it into the headphone jack on my laptop and into the Audio inputs on my tv, and low and behold it worked like a charm! Finally I don't have to watch on a big screen while listening to the speakers on my laptop...

Using with my PS3 and X-540
I'm using this to get surround sound with my Logitech X-540 and my PS3. Although it's not true Dolby surround sound, it's super cheap as well as the X-540 is. Before I got this, I was using the matrix mode on the X-540, and it's nowhere near as good as having this adapter because the sound isn't forced into all 5 speakers. I highly recommend this to those who don't have the expensive 5.1 systems.

Amazing product and service
I needed something to connect my 5.1 surround sound speaker system to video game systems and dvd players, because they only have computer plugs. I went to several retail stores like Best Buy, Radioshack, and circuit city, but none of them had one. The closest thing they had to it were plugs that cost 50$. When i saw this on Amazon for 5$ I wasn't quite sure whether it would be good quality, but it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. It works just fine, and to top it off they delivered it to me in less than half the estimated delivery time. This is a great product to get.

Now what it seems
Be aware that if you are using a stereo source (two channels, red/white), you can butter it up all you want, but you are not getting surround sound. The closest you can physically get to true non-stereo sound with a stereo source is using Dolby Pro-Logic and Pro-Logic II. But to achieve that, you need a Dolby Pro-Logic/II receiver which would cost a pretty penny. This clearly does not do this.What this adapter does, is the same thing you would achieve by splicing the rear left, front left, and center speaker wire together and connecting it to a single-channel plug (a white RCA plug). Then the same thing being repeated for the right channel with front right, rear right, and center.Using this adapter, the sound will be all around you, but it won't be surround sound. You won't hear space ships and laser blasts flying around you, you won't hear dialog coming directly from the TV, music from the left and right, and special effects from behind you, nor will you hear...

Bigger is... not better
The cables work fine and dandy, and were in perfect condition, but the plug heads are just too unnecessarily large - if the left and right stereo ports on your device are very close to one another at all, you're going to have a battle on your hands to force the two plugs into place. I managed to make them fit into my TV just fine, but on the back of my sound system, they barely squeezed in place, and occasionally I now have problems with them fitting loosely, characterized by static or other loss of sound quality. So make sure you have ample space between your L/R stereo ports before buying this cable pair.
