Can use even if bulb burst.
A previous review warned not to use this if bulb burst. This is not correct. I waited to install this second bulb before writing this (this is the second one to burst due to the over 3000 hours used). I removed the old burst bulb and saw that the damage was contained within the bulb housing. Just to insure the best image, I carefully cleaned the color wheel with a damp qtip and rotated it to get it clean. The new bulb works good as new. My x1 projector image has never looked better. If you have any doubts it seems that the bulb can be returned as per amazon's return policy. By the way, I got my bulb from Amazon in 3 days with free shipping.

here is the real news
this is a sub-thousand projector. bottom line i have had one for four years and burned 2000 hours on it. Are there better projectors -- yes, but for the money, this one gets 5 stars. you need to clean the filter every 300 hours, this takes 4 minutes. just take the bulb out and get the dust off of the screen. this is very important because bulb life is depenent on keeping it cool. i have been very impressed with this unit and with the picture quality. if you look at the pic for the unit you can see the screen on the side. its like a lint collector on a clothes dryer. just open it up every 300 hours (4 months) and clean scrape off the lint. im going to do mine right now.

Great projector but,
You MUST keep the lamp filters clean. The first one, (factory install) lasted only 750 hours. I suspect it was because of the dust build up and over heating, (never did). When I replaced the lamp, the dust filters were clogged and probably contributed to the short life of the lamp.Also note, when you power down the projector, (using the remote) the cooling fan continues to run. To have it completley shut down you have to manually turn orr the power switch on the projector.

Great Quality
I ordered three of these bulbs for our church projector in early 2009. They are still going strong. Other namebrands have not held up as well. Additionally the cost amazed me! I had paid 5 times more locally than I paid for these.

I hope these bulbs last longer the the ones that came with my projector
I used my artograph super prism projector for less then 10 hours over a month's time, and had a bulb burn out. I ordered this bulb to replace it and with in another couple of hours of use, my other original bulb burned out! I just went to Lowe's and bought a 200 watt light bulb and I'm going to see how long it will last compared to this bulb I just ordered. I will probably just stick with the bulbs from Lowes any how just because it is cheaper then paying $10 a bulb on amazon by the time you buy the bulb and pay for shipping and sit around and wait a week to get it.

not bad for price
I see a lot of negative reviews on this item, I just purchased one on a black fri sale for 49.99 I thought what the heck give it a go , if it falls to pieces not a big loss if it works GREAT!!!I must say the projector is very cool for what it is worthYes, there is some major resolution issues with it but then again you get what you paid for. NOT TOP OF THE LINE! Yes there does look to be like you are watching a movie through a screen door but it isn't that disturbing to the eye ,The sound was good , and most certainly will be having some fun with it this summer with outdoor movie nights.I watched Jurassic Park on it for a first go around there was some fuzzy issues with focus but all in all I really sorta felt like I was at a movie theater inside my own house " Very cool " But the extra blurred pic was more than likely due to me pulling the unit 20 feet back from the wall to see JUST HOW MASSIVE i could get it to go. Oh it did do at least a 10-15 ft...

Got what I paid for.
Spent just a little over $70 on this. Spent most of my time worrying if it'd look fine playing, if it'd be too dark, or not enough sound. Item was receiven in great condition. Was easy to hook up to my PS3 to stream movies right onto my wall. Picture wasn't amazing, but it looked pretty well and the sound was loud enough too. I'll probably save up to buy a newer brand that can be brighter, but as for now this is totally fine and worth the buy. Even if the bulb burns out, I was given a manual on how to replace it, so I'm good :)

Great Light Bulb
Works as advertised. I wish it lasted longer than 20 hours, but still I get a lot of Usage out of it. Cheap enough to replace if you buy the 6 pack, but I am a little ticked off that I cant seem to buy the 500W version in a 6 pack.Light is bright and nice color for photo, video applications. I use mine for Video.

Short lifespan
If you're considering buying this bulb, just be aware that it has alifespan of 20 hours. Those specs aren't included here, but if you dosome research on other websites selling bulbs, you'll find it's true.I haven't found a better option although I've ordered some fluorescentbulbs that provide a similar lumens (which for this bulb is somethinglike 6500). I know that the light from the fluorescent bulb will becooler, but it's lifespan is 10,000 hours. (I use the light to takephotos but also as a source of light to paint by so I'm looking forsomething that has the light of an incandescent but also a longer life).
