Strong. Light. Rope.
If you find yourself stuck in a place high up because zombies or some other form of danger is beneath you, you could lower yourself down with this paracord once the danger had passed or was eliminated. That is unless of course you weigh more than 550lbs. In which case you're probably awesome enough without the paracord considering you climbed to a high place in the first place.

Bought 300' so far.....indispensable. Keep some in wife's car, truck, work truck, make lanyards outta it....tie down ANYTHING....use as boot laces(laces that will never break)...hang antennas from trees...or to tease the cats with......love this stuff....and it's the real deal...not some Chinese ripoff stuff.

As advertized
I don't like leaving a 5 star review, as no item is perfect. That said, I gave this item 5 stars as it is exactly what it was advertised to be. When I opened the paracord (which was shipped quickly by the way) I could see the 7 strands inside. The paracord holds my weight, 240 lbs, with not problem - which is what I was looking for. You shouldn't use this to clime mountains, there is better rope for that. But, it makes for great looking and long lasting shoelaces, camping line etc. I bought it for my knife, but I have found myself using it for everything. I highly recommend keeping some in your emergency kit, your car and anywhere else you may find yourself needing it at some future point. This stuff doesn't rot, so it will be there when you need it. It may not be military grade (I can't say if it is or isn't myself), but I'm not going to be storming Iraq any time soon, so if it's not, that's okay by me.

Good quality and it is a hundred FEET
This is a nice tight braid, not as soft as the harware store "clothesline" grade stuff. I want to point out that the package I received does have one hundred feet, not inches. The picture of the product label is correct, the link text (550lb. Type III Paracord 100" Black) is not.

Great all around use.
Ah... Paracord. Its a lovely nylon mix apart from being amazingly strong and thinner than a pencil. It can be stretched out to secure items and is very unlikely to snap or brake. In the boot camp I had a teammate that didn't have great memory so we attached his items to his pant's with Paracord. Took us long enough to cut it off him when he learned his lesson. It can be used for emergency climbing but, I don't suggest it since the small rope can flatten out and burn your hands badly. Then again if it's an emergency I don't think rope burn is your biggest worry. Over all paracord is wonderful.

Too flat for MY needs
550 cord has a multiude of purposes. I make paracord jewelry and decorations, for my tent and for the soldiers I meet while I am living and working in Afghanistan. This particular cord is made with core strands of a lesser quality than some others, even by the same supplier. The label on this product is G.I Plus. It carries the Rothco trademark, however, it has been my experience that some products are manufactered differently. I have recieved a purple and pink product by G.I Plus that has the fuller core strands that produce the results that the soldiers and I desire in our paracord jewelry and decorations. I recieved another G.I Plus color from a different supplier with the same flat type core strands and although I rated the product at an even 3 of 5, I got a reply from the vendor that my review was negative and harmful to the business. US Made 550lb Paracord
I bought this paracord from Army Universe which has a large selection of bright colors and patterns. It is very strong. I use it to make lanyards for my knives & tools and bracelets for the kids. I DO NOT MAKE NECKLACES USING PARACORD. A word of warning about necklaces. if they get snagged on something, paracord is so strong that strangulation is a very real possibility. If you need a paracord necklace for a neck knife or whatever, For safety's sake use safety breakaway pop barrel connectors. On Ebay you can get a hundred for less than $10, shipping included. I can't find them on Amazon.I received my order fast. Merchandise is as described. No unpleasant surprises. Just the way I like it. I will buy from Army Universe through Amazon again.
