Good gift for Dads!
I purchased a subscription to this magazine for my father, who loves old cars. It is not a beautiful publication, but it comes every week and he seems to thoroughly enjoy it. The publication style fits those who hang out in cold garages and scrounge for parts!

Just a great magazine
I have subscribed to this magazine for several years now, it is not a fancy magazine by any means, but rather a very informative and readable articles in it...it is top of the line in covering old cars..I love seeing the old wrecking yards..sort of makes me want to go out and rescue some of those great years of my favorite body styles.

Both kustom car layman and novice will love this read. The three Parts of Old School Customs (The Pioneers, The Lifers and The Pacesetters) help break the thirteen car builders presented here, into distinct significance within the world of automotive customizers. Author Alan Mayes digs deep into each builders history, accomplishments and personality. My favorite chapters were on Bo Huff, Voodoo Larry and Darryl Starbird. Gorgeous photography compliments Mayes informative, direct and fluid writing style. A must have for anyone even vaguely interested in the subject.

The faces behind the art
Alan Mayes is always a good read. This book is a compilation of "artists" who have made custom vehicles and history. At times I felt there was more than I needed to know on the artist but it was educational none-the-less. The pictures are great and gaining the historical notes added to my knowledge. As a "senior" I remember the times, the cars, and the customizers. You can't go wrong adding this book to your library even if you are not into customs. If you are, then you don't need this review. It's all good.

This magazine can drive car collectors nutty. That being said, however, we have to realize that it's all that out there that counts. The Editor/Publisher could add more "rare" factory models (say, 1955 - 1975), and add more definitive optional equipment listings, but that might use up to much space. I'll keep getting it.

The Best Generalist's Book On Classic Cars
No book is perfect for the collector, but this is probably the best for car collectors. With over 1000 of the world's finest models, from over 200 marques, it has certainly captured the best amongst its pages. It also has some strange picks, but it doesn't claim to only list the top cars. And the world doesn't start in 1945 for this author, his team goes back as far as 1891 for their car selections. Excellent colour photos, with some B/W. Godd source of information on cars from the 1930s. With over 500 pages, this is a big book in all dimensions. Great value.

Great Library of Collectible Cars
This is a great compilation of collectible cars done in alphabetical order. This book does a great job in capturing most of the interesting cars ever made but does not list all ie the Monti Verde, the Peerless, the Morgan Plus 4 Plus, etc. but it is a very impressive body of work.

Enclyclopedia of Classic Cars
I agree with the previous reviewer who said no book is complete. I enjoyed this book but it is missing a few muscle cars that I would have thought would be included. The Chevrolet Nova and Malibu is omitted, as is the El Camino and Ford Ranchero. But these omissions do not really detract from an otherwise comprehensive book. There are foreign makes I've never heard of (some of these may have omissions as well, but who's to say?).The book gives horsepower information and other pertinent engine data. Many of the photos are in black and white but there are several in color as well. This is a good coffee table book that should keep car enthusiasts occupied for many hours.

Melissa & Doug Car Carrier
My grandsons love this toy - one is 3 years and the other is 2. I'm ordering another so they don't have to share. They love moving the carrier rack up and down and driving the cars off. They 'drive' the truck off around the furniture legs and come back for the cars to load them back up. This toy encourages language development as we talk about where the truck is going and where the cars will be parked, what color car should go where, etc. Great for imaginative play.

The Car Carrier is made with an eye for sturdy, dependable detail that allows your child to play for hours without interruption. The long ramp folds easily along its hinges, which encourages and facilitates your child's exploration with the way certain hinges and constructions may move to create new formations. big hit with 2 y.o.
We recently gave this to a friend's little boy for his 2nd birthday - he and all the other boys at the party played with it constantly! It says ages 3+ on the package, but the only small parts are the wheels, which seem well-attached. My 3 year old son liked the toy too, but the 2 year old boys spent far more time playing with it. The top rack slides down so the cars can all drive off the car carrier. I was impressed at how well-made the toy is and I came on today to buy another one to put away as a Christmas gift for my 1.5 year old.
