Rave Review
Not just another small-block chevy rebuild book - Mavrigian really shows the differences of the gen II chevy small block. Good pictures and lots of specifics. Buy it before rebuilding your LT-1 in your 92+ vette, 93+ F-body or B- body.

Product Description

In 1992, General Motors introduced the LT1 V-8 engine. This upgraded design, based on the traditional (since 1955) small-block V-8, marked a significant step forward for GM, as the engine was designed to be a modern, efficient, computer-controlled powerplant from the start. This was unlike any other V-8 GM had ever built, and the results were outstanding.
The LT1, along with its more powerful stablemate, the LT4, raised the bar for performance-oriented small-blocks until the introduction of the LS1 in 1997. The LT1/LT4 engines are powerful, relatively lightweight, and affordable. They powered Chevrolet's legendary Impala SS (and thousands of similar police cars), Corvettes, and Camaros and remain viable choices for enthusiasts today.
This book investigates every component of these engines, discussing their strong and weak points and identifying characteristics. Upgrades and modifications for both improved power production and enhanced durability are described and explained in full. All relevant factory casting numbers are listed. Aftermarket component upgrades for improved street and track performance are defined clearly and in great detail. Top to learn more

Good for what it is made for.
Forgive me if I seem a little preachy, but quite a bit of people misunderstand what this tool is for: this is a high speed, LOW torque (in other words, do NOT apply excessive pressure), LOW amp (not much mechanical power), multi functioning rotary tool. Dremel will most likely NEVER make a rotary tool that is high speed high torque, high amp, because that's not their niche. This is for weekend warriors, do it yourself-er types, this for crafts and hobbies, this is NOT an industrial grade spinning tool, if that is what you are looking for, get a die grinder, angle grinder, flexible shaft motor tool, get high powered electric or pneumatic, Milwaukee, Foredom, Ingersoll Rand, something else, not Dremel. You'll only be disappointed if you go the Dremel route with that expectation. For Dremel's, you let speed do the work. Unless you are dealing with plastic or wood, something that melts or catches aflame, then go for high speed. Slow down on metal, speed up in ceramic (don't quote me...

It's powerful, but it lacks torque
I bought this Dremel. I used it. Then, I promptly returned it. I instead went with Proxxon 38481 IB/E Professional Rotary Tool. The Proxxon is far superior in almost every way. If you look at the spec sheets, you might think the Dremel would have the advantage. After all, the Dremel boasts a 175 watt motor and continuous variable speeds from 5,000-35,000 RPM whereas the Proxxon only has a 100 Watt motor and continuous variable speeds from 5,000-20,000 RPM.However, the Dremel is loud and whiny. [Noise is the manifestation of vibration.] The Proxxon is quiet and smooth, with virtually no vibration. Further, the Proxxon delivers consistent torque. The Dremel buckles a bit under heavy loads. It isn't consistent. The Proxxon uses triple reinforced steel collets to minimize play. The Dremel uses a keyless chuck. [If you prefer a keyless chuck, Proxxon offers an attachment for roughly $10.]The Proxxon is ergonomically designed and...
