I'm an Entourage PS owner and recently purchased two Entourage CIS units (one for my car, and one for my wife's). I had Installernet do the installation at a convenient location near my office - it was painless and less than $60 with the installcard!One of the great features of these products is out ability to share our locations with each other (this is kind of like FaceBook for vehicles). As much as I love my Entourage PS, the custom installed CIS automates the arming and disarming of the security features with the key fob. If you're planning on protecting one vehicle and knowing where it is anytime and if someone has bumped it or simply stolen it, this is the product you want to have. Having had a computer for years, I have had to send emails seeking advice\solutions to all kinds of software and computer and accessory folks. I have had mixed response from everyone from really bad (no response) to fair (got back in a day or two). I recently had a question for LOJACK, I sent an email and was really surprised when I got an email with actual help and advice in less that a couple of hours. I wrote back with additional information and received two emails back from different people. Their advice and help was fantastic. I've had many problems with my computer, gone through 4 hard drives a mother board and several memory chips, but every time I checked at LOJACK to see if my computer is still checking in, I found that I didn't have to do anything, the software was still protecting me. OK, few things in life surprise me, but this is one of them. I decided to get a GPS tracker to keep track of my elderly father, who has gotten lost a few times recently while driving. But I didn't like the idea of getting one of those premium units. The price seemed high, but some people have also complained of the electronics in their car getting affected (since these units plug into the OBD-II port). So I opted for this unit, albeit being a bit skeptical because of the low price and no manufacturer name mentioned.When the item arrived, it was basically a black plastic, brick-like object in a plain manilla envelope; and with no original packaging. In addition, it looked like the instructions were typed up by someone in Microsoft Word. I was considering returning it all because of such low-budget packaging, but figured maybe this is all how it's supposed to be because of the low price and no company name...kind of like when you buy a designer coat at a deep discount,... Excellent Product but don't try to transfer the protection
I installed this product on a MacBook Pro with no problems or issues. I later sold the MacBook Pro, advertising that it had LoJack for Laptops installed. I sold the laptop and wound up buying another copy of LoJack for the purchaser as LoJack won't let you transfer the product. A real pain; they did walk me through the steps to uninstall it on the sold machine and install it on another computer I own. I found the customer support very helpful and empathetic. Best of the bunch
Unlike all or most the other antitheft software on the market, LoJack does not require you to trace or accost the perp. You simply inform your local police of the theft then LoJack and they take it from there. I have not installed it but as I understand it, LoJack sends a "location" signal everytime it is used and local police are alerted and LoJack returns the computer to you. It also scrambles personal data on the computer. I have read that it does not work overseas but do not know that for a fact. Top to learn more
