Great, but definitely not for kids under 8
I had a Power Wheels toy for my girls when they were 2 and 4. Now that my son was turning 4, I didn't want him driving around in a pink Barbie Jeep. I went and bought the Ground Force but it is significantly faster - the Power Wheels tops out at 5mph (but also allows you to lock the speed to a max of 2.5mph), whereas the Ground Force has a max speed of 12mph. I must say though, that I (a 40 year old man who weighs 165 pounds) LOVE this thing...It was fast, nimble and my neighbors got used to seeing me drive around the neighborhood. But, ahem, where was I? Oh yes, back to the kids. My 6 and 9 year old daughters love this car since it is significantly faster than their old Power Wheel car. I was even able to take my 6 year old out with it when I went roller blading and she was able to keep up with me and then some (we went out for about an hour (so figure we went about 8-10 miles since we weren't going the full hour. GREAT! Very good value for the price!!!
I had second thoughts after reading the negative review about this item...but WOW am I ever glad I didn't listen to THAT review! I bought this for my 6 year old son and he is having an absolute BLAST with this item. I was very impressed with the all steel construction and the top speed is more like 15 mph as opposed to the 12 mph claim on the box. Over all I think this is an EXCELLENT value for the price in workmanship, quality, and the simple fact that this thing is just ALOT of FUN!!!

Outstanding FUN -- need better manual
Our son received this for his 9th birthday and LOVES it. Unlike the review below, he had no problem acheiving 12+ mph. If you're used to the Peg Perego electric toy ride-ons, this is very different. It's very solid throughout, mostly metal with hard plastic. There aren't any bells and whistles, just a variable speed forward throttle (no reverse) and brake, both of which work extremely well. This is a real go-kart: very low to the ground for tight cornering. The battery is built in, and with a very simple plug for charging -- but the trade off is that you can't stock multiple batteries for longer play time. Our son usually gets near the advertised 45 minutes of play time before recharges, and there is a nice indicator on the steering wheel warning of low charge. You will need a fairly large smooth area (like a parking lot) for your kid to use this go-kart. It doesn't take bumps well being so low to the ground. The kart is small, so can fit in...

Lots of fun
I just got this for my kids, who are 5, 7, and 14. They love it! The 180 degree turns are fun, but it can also be controlled at slower speeds. My 5 year old isn't ready to go all out yet, and he uses the throttle lightly for a slower ride. It seems very safe as long as it's used away from traffic and obstacles. Definitely for paved areas, not grass. Charge time is 12 hours, so it can only be used once a day in general. It was 40 degrees F today (about 4 degrees C) and we had it out for an hour. With downtime for changing riders, I'm guessing it lasted for about 40 minutes of ride time. Maybe it'll last longer in warmer weather. It went noticeably slower with the 140 lb. 14 year old riding, but was still fun for him. Razor tends to give age recommendations that seem high. This is probably good for ages 5 - 12. Teens will want something more powerful.

Bought both types - both are great!! but........
I bought both the ground force, and the drifter - so I am going to give a comparison. My boys (6 and 7) prefer the drifter. Being able to spin that thing around really gives added pleasure. Now they don't want to really ride the non-drifting ground force. One other difference is the drifter is able to turn with a much tighter radius. So that makes it more maneuverable in tight turns from the street to the sidewalk, etc. I wish I had just gotten two drifters. However, if I had gotten two ground forces, I bet the boys would have been happy not knowing what they were missing.

So far, the best Razor product we've purchased.
And we've had a few of them. I have read many complaints about Razor and their customer service. Fortunately, my experience has been very positive. This is the fourth razor ride on toy that I've purchased and they have all performed wonderfully. My kid's pocket ROcket is almost 4 years old now, and is still working well on the original battery. ANyway, THIS KART IS AWESOME! In addition to arriving fully assembled, and charged up, this thing does everything it claims. It's got great torque, crawls right through mud and over bumps and uphill, and is a very well constructed little buggy. Like the MX350, I would prefer a footbrake, because my 3 year old can drive this thing, but can't squeeze the hand brake. OH well, he's younger than the recommended age so this is on me. THe motor provides more than enough " engine braking" anyway to bring the thing to a pretty rapid halt when you let off the gas. I am verypleased in every way with this buggy...

I bought this product because my 2 kids (aged 6 and 7.5) want a "little car". They always wanted a "power wheels" and still do! But I wouldn't buy one then and I'm certainly not going to buy one now. This product seemed like a good solution - its not as fast as the Razor go-kart - 8mph vs 12 mph. And the idea that it is "off-road entertainment" is very compelling as we have some hard packed dirt paths nearby. I disliked the razor go-kart because it requires the kids to either drive in the street OR in a parking lot which didn't seem super safe, and also seemed like it would get boring sooner. I like the idea that we could take this to many parks and just run around. I was very curious to see what the owners manual said, and I'm going to share that with you. We all know that owners manuals can be a bit restrictive, but, it does say what it says for a reason. Keep in mind, I think this is a great product, but I think you deserve the full...

Razor Dune Buggy Better Then Expected!
After having a "real" Dune Buggy years ago, I purchased two Razor Dune Buggies for my grandchildren for Christmas (6 1/2 and 8 yrs old). The order was delivered much faster then expected and the only thing I had to do is add a little air to the tires and charge the batterys. The Buggy is belt extremely well and because the tires have groves for off road riding, it moves over grass and smooth surfaces much better then other ride on toys. The hand controls were easy for the kids to operate and the 6 1/2 yr old had no problems at all. And "yes" it definitely travels FAST enough! I believe a child over 10 yrs old would probably be too large to ride comfortably, but the Buggy would probably carry them easily any way. The battery lasted a good 45 minutes or more, and ran full throttle most of the time. There are many-many safty factors built in and the Manual gave good safety rules and advice. This also was very important to me AND the kids...

Yeeehawww!
Go kart is great. It includes EVERYTHING but the motor. I ordered a chain and master link too but the go kart already comes with one. The seat on the Kart is adjustable and can slide forward far enough for my 5 year old to drive with a pillow behind his back. The seat also adjusts far enough back for me to drive and I'm 5'11". I just have to be careful not to hit my head on the roll bar when driving on bumpy terrain. Overall a great Kart!
