A Classic! Should be titled "How to Build a Practical Dome"
This is the classic book on how to build a hexadome. Geodesic domes are great, the math behind the design is impressive, but they are complicated to build and the complication leads to leaks. Gene Hopster presents a simplified dome design he calls a hexadome. A Hexadome is not quite so efficient as a geodesic but its geometry makes it easier for real people to build! So you get the advantages (and beauty) of a dome and an approach that a carpenter without a PhD in math can actually understand and implement.The book is short but it explains the basics. It has some great house plans to give you ideas. Unfortunately we lost Gene Hopster a few years ago so he will not be updating this. Top to learn more

A modern solution to the old as history problem of housing.
There are many different types of methods promoted for building a home. Yet I have never seen such a solution offered that is as economically feasible in todays economical climate (so-called post recession). Nor have I seen a solution that offered the added ecologically low impacting sustainability in combination with the indestructibility of such an energy efficient home. Hence the subtitle of the book. The concept and research provided in this work completely addresses not just the physical structure, but also the social implications it has on modern civilization. The instructions are easy to understand and follow for the laymen and experienced alike. Amazing product that is so simple and yet, so beautiful
For a long time, I have been trying to get my spending under control. Everytime I began, I felt like I was inventing the wheel, for I did not know how many categories of spending to track, nor what I was going to track them with. I didn't feel like purchasing a computer program that may crash and really wouldn't help that much, but trying to create a budget shee from scratch proved daunting. One day, while shopping at Office Depot, I found this book, and I will forever be thankful.The accounting book already has categories and is arranged for easy entry of daily expenses. Using the categories given, and one extra for Credit Cards, my wife and I have created a wonderful budgeting system. We cebelebrate days when there are no entries, and we are amazed at how quickly savings can increase once the money is being tracked. I recommend this book for everyone who is striving to get their finances in order. Don't buy another how-to book on budgeting, buy this book which is... Top to learn more
Good planner
This is a really good home budget planner. Besides space to record monthly expenses and totals, there is pages of tax information (ten most common omissions on tax returns, comparison of what the average deductions are for income ranges, education tax incentives, how childs income is taxed etc),a page on 20 ways to save on your food bill, pages to record yearly tax deductions (medical, interest, child care, etc), and two pockets for you to keep you reciepts, etc.I have been using this book for 5 years and haven't found a better budget book than this one. If you really want to know where you money is going and how to save money, this is the book for you. Top to learn more
Handy item, but if the publisher reads this review, please...
If you want a home budget book, I recommend this one highly. My only complaint is that it doesn't have enough choices. The utilities are lumped together and there isn't an entry for all of them, such as "cable". I could have used a couple of more blank columns for our individualized expenses, such as internet and cell phones. I chose to cross out some of the ones I used less such as "household expense" and "loans" to use for other items I need to keep track of.For the price, though, it can't be beat and makes book keeping for the math challenged (that would be moi) much, much easier. This 6000 sq. ft house with 8 interconnecting domes, a 2000 sq. ft separate building, and a 32 ft. diameter grow-dome was built on forty acres, with love, by Nicole LaVoie of SoundWaveEnergy, in beautiful Southern Colorado.
