Hal Jordan Green Lantern Figure
This figurine of Hal Jordan as the Green Lantern stands tall at around 7" with a high quality paint job. The figure's joints are stiff to move, thus allowing an albeit limited a number of poses for display.Accompanying the figurine is a charging lantern for him to hold. The lantern accessory's build is cheap and inconsistent with the quality of the figure. The handle for this accessory is flimsy and removable to allow it to slip through the figurine's left hand.The toy is a collectible and not so much an action figure. You'd want to pose this figure and not bang it around. With that said, the accompanying stand is too small and does not allow both feet to be planted on it, which is a flawed design. The figure thus stands lopsided, with one foot connected to the stand and the other awkwardly elevated.Despite all this, the figure is definitely a satisfying piece of art, especially for the price. Fragile, but so nice to look at.
This figure is very "light". I mean that it has very little bulk to it (Come one it is a skeleton. What do you expect?). But, despite that this figure is beautifully sculpted. The detail in the head and how the baggy clothing is sculted around the skeletal body is very nice. Like all Blackest night figures this comes with a stand, but it also has a prop peg. So you can put the peg in the base and then intsert it into his back so as to make him look like he is levitating. I wish the hole for the peg was in the center of the base, but what can you do? Beautiful figure.

Extremely poseable Wonder Woman figure, showcasing her brief time as a Star Sapphire from Blackest Night. GORGOUES! A+!
I've always loved Star Sapphire, even when she was a villainess. But once they made it something that wasn't really Carol Ferris' fault, I was really able to get on board with the character. Then enter Geoff Johns, and he really elevates the character, hell, the entire CONCEPT of not only the Star Sapphires but also with the additions of other Lanterns from different areas of the emotional color spectrum. And it really shouldn’t since DC Direct is more in the market of creating items aimed at those who are budget conscious, while the Sideshow items tend to be really When is DC going to do a line that can compete with Marvel Universe. Raven and Death are coming from Adam Hughes and the DC Direct Cover Girl statue line. As much as I was concerned about the first teaser trailer for the show, the latest sneak peek has me very interested in what statues DC Direct will have to offer. Of course I am expecting the LEGO line (not DC Direct) to bring in money hand over fist. is not expected to affect the DC Direct line of products. DC Direct is cool, but we all know stores like the Walmart and the Target (that is me in the south talking, apparently that is what everyone calls it here) don’t carry them. Please DC, I want to buy 3 3/4″ figures that look good.

Of course, unlike Mattel, DC then immediately announced they were starting DC Collectibles, which is essentially the same thing as DC Direct, except they'll have an online store of all their merchandise for people who can't/won't go to comic book... Just days after Mattel muttered on a random website that their Young Justice toylines and mass retail DC Superheroes figures were going kaput, DC announced they would be closing shop on their merchandising arm DC Direct. Obviously, this isn't at all like Mattel's nonsense, I just thought it was funny that DC was managing to expand their merchandising at the same time Mattel was shutting down most of its DC merchandising. And don't worry, it doesn't sound like the new DC store is anything like Matty Collector -- there's no subscriptions, no ordering things without any idea of what figures they'll include, or anything like that. This includes a few store exclusives, like the 4-figure Flashpoint boxed set above (with its exclusive Emperor Aquaman figure). Been a while since I read Aquaman but I thought that Star Fleet symbol belt buckle was an 'A' for Aquaman belt buckle. I think I finally figured out what the "D" and "C" stands for in DC. Not "Detective Comics", but "Dickweed Council" instead. Really chaps my ass when I am in the action figure aisle and I see a plain figure with no accessories or fancy packaging or extra features going for $17. Now I see why I don't read DC Comics. Hate the Emperor Aquaman, way to simply repaint the Brightest Day Aquaman. How Matty has consistantly fucked up like that - only small windows of buying action figures, then gone forever. If you showed me this picture and told me to describe "Emperor" Aquaman I would have said "Um. Aquaman.
