A Worthy Successor to PNLHE
After reading I couldn't wait to read Volume II. It doesn't have the same name, but this is that book. was nice, but it did not answer the fundamental questions about bluffs vs. value the way this book does. After reading this book you'll be able to put your opponent not just on one hand, but a range of hands, then evaluate your hand's equity against that range. After every street you'll be able to estimate whether that card helped or hurt his range. After every action you'll be able to narrow your opponents range down even further. The more you play with someone, the more you'll get a sense of the shape of their range and...

Worth it for the exercises
The first time I applied Ed's method of breaking down the player type, with the action per street, I was blown away that I could actually read a hand. With that info it was an easy decision on what to do next. The only problem is I play online and don't have the 300 seconds it took me to break everything down while playing. If you're actually interested in "studying" no-limit holdem, this is the best text book out there. Strategy is important, but knowing villain's range makes +EV decisions much much easier.I know if I put in the time to actually study Ed's method and go over the exercises until they're burned in my memory, I'll finally start beating small stakes ring games online ($0.50/$1).

Excellent Poker Book
This book should be in the hands of any serious player. Ed Miller has a way of breaking down complicated theories and ideas into easy to understand information. I have had tremendous success in live poker since July of last year, and I can credit Ed Miller more than anyone else for my results. Once you have the basics down in poker this book will catapult your game to a whole new level. It is well written and relatively easy to follow. Ed teaches you how to group your opponents into different categories, and learn to assign them hand ranges based on how they play. He goes on to explain turn and river hand ranges and how to maximize your profit against those ranges. There are also plenty of shortcuts which will make things simpler at the tables. The most important and helpful thing in the book is the exercises. You will be taught how the pros read hands by doing the work yourself. Ed will guide you towards the correct way to think about hands. I can honestly...

Hand reading is the single most important no-limit hold’em skill. If you can figure out what hands your opponents are likely to have, you will make consistently good decisions. You’ll find bluffs other players miss. You’ll find value bets other players miss. And you’ll also be able to anticipate and avoid trouble before you’re knee-deep in it. Some people say hand reading is a “feel” skill. That you can only learn it through experience. They’re wrong. Not that experience isn’t vital. It is. But if you think that you’re just going to figure it all out by playing hours and hours of hold’em, you’re likely mistaken. The learning curve is very steep. That’s the bad news. The good news is that How To Read Hands At No-Limit Hold'em can leapfrog you up the learning curve. Not only will you be reading hands better from the moment you finish your first read-through, but you will also learn how to develop your skill during every session you play in the future. What’s inside: *How to get a read on all the different types of opponents in your small stakes no-limit games * How to systematically find big bluffs and thin value bets on the river * How to react when you get raised * How to spot one of the biggest mistakes many players make on the turn and how to turn that leak into profit. This one alone is worth the price of the book * How to spot the flops you shouldn’t be continuation betting * How to sniff out bluffs using null ranges * How to use software at home to fine-tune your hand reading even further * And much more Top to learn more

Loving the Traveling Salesman Problem
The Traveling Salesman Problem is remarkable easy to state: given a set of points with distances between them, find the shortest tour through all the points. Despite its simple statement, the problem of finding good or optimal tours has generated thousands of research papers. The TSP is the standard testbed for discrete optimization: practically every possible approach to optimization can be tried out on the TSP. So research on the TSP has had a tremendous effect on approaches for all sorts of other optimization problems. This paper covers every aspect of this research corpus. The author is the world's expert on this topic, and is clearly enraptured with this problem. His affection shows through his naming of his favorite heuristic, favorite computational model, and more. The book is wide-ranging and thorough and is written in a consistently engaging, conversational style, even when going very deep into the research literature. This is not a research...

One of the best recreational math books
I have a few thousand books on recreational mathematics, so it's always fun to find a true gem that is superbly researched, well-illustrated, and well-written. IPotTS:MatLoC is one of those rare books. When I was a boy, it was a few well-illustrated math books that drew me in. I didn't really understand some of the things in the books, but I wanted to. Then in fifth grade, I was taught about plotting a point, and suddenly the odd graphs in the books made sense.Various websites such as the Wolfram demonstrations project have dozens of ready-to-run programs dealing with the Traveling Salesman Problem. You have 20 or so cities, and you must plot the ideal route that goes through them all. The authors thorough discuss all the ins and outs of the problem, which is still unsolved. There are many excellent ways to get a really good solution for a given set of 100 random points, but proving that the best solution has been found, by checking all tours, is currently...

What is the shortest possible route for a traveling salesman seeking to visit each city on a list exactly once and return to his city of origin? It sounds simple enough, yet the traveling salesman problem is one of the most intensely studied puzzles in applied mathematics--and it has defied solution to this day. In this book, William Cook takes readers on a mathematical excursion, picking up the salesman's trail in the 1800s when Irish mathematician W. R. Hamilton first defined the problem, and venturing to the furthest limits of today's state-of-the-art attempts to solve it.
Cook examines the origins and history of the salesman problem and explores its many important applications, from genome sequencing and designing computer processors to arranging music and hunting for planets. He looks at how computers stack up against the traveling salesman problem on a grand scale, and discusses how humans, unaided by computers, go about trying to solve the puzzle. Cook traces the salesman problem to the realms of neuroscience, psychology, and art, and he also challenges readers to tackle the problem themselves. The traveling salesman problem is--literally--a $1 million question. That's the prize the Clay Mathematics Institute is offering to anyone who can solve the problem or prove that it can't be done.
In Pursuit of the Traveling Salesman travels to the very threshold of our understanding about the nature of complexity, and challenges you yourself to discover the solution to this captivating mathematical problem.

Beware the Kindle Version: The Illustrations Are Atrocious, the Navigation, Very Difficult
This may be an authentically five-star book; my math skills make it difficult to follow the argument, so my opinion counts for little regarding content. The illustrations come through ugly. The poor quality detracts, for me, in a big way.The book is annoying to navigate. I haven't discovered how to return to where I left off after reading a footnote. This has never before happened to me with a Kindle book.

An enlightening, intensely researched examination of violations of the constitutional principles that preserve individual rights and civil liberties from courtrooms to classrooms.
With telling anecdote and detail, Pulitzer Prize–winner David K. Shipler explores the territory where the Constitution meets everyday America, where legal compromises—before and since 9/11—have undermined the criminal justice system’s fairness, enhanced the executive branch’s power over citizens and immigrants, and impaired some of the freewheeling debate and protest essential in a constitutional democracy.
Shipler demonstrates how the violations tamper with America’s safety in unexpected ways. While a free society takes risks to observe rights, denying rights creates other risks. A suspect’s right to silence may deprive police of a confession, but a forced confession is often false. Honoring the right to a jury trial may be cumbersome, but empowering prosecutors to coerce a guilty plea means evidence goes untested, the charge unproved. An investigation undisciplined by the Bill of Rights may jail the innocent and leave the guilty at large and dangerous. Weakened constitutional rules allow the police to waste precious resources on useless intelligence gathering and frivolous arrests. The criminal courts act less as impartial adjudicators than as conveyor belts from street to prison in a system that some disillusioned participants have nicknamed “McJustice.”
There is, always, a human cost. Shipler shows us victims of torture and abuse—not only suspected terrorists at the hands of the CIA but also murder suspects interrogated by the Chicago police. We see a poverty-stricken woman forced to share an attorney with her drug dealer boyfriend and sentenced to six years in prison when the conflict of interest turns her lawyer against her. We meet high school students suspended for expressing unwelcome political opinions. And we see a pregnant immigrant deported, after years of living legally in the country, for allegedly stealing a lottery ticket.
Often shocking, yet ultimately idealistic, Rights at Risk shows us the shadows of America where the civil liberties we rightly take for granted have been eroded—and summons us to reclaim them. Top to learn more

Pot Limit Omaha and Omaha/8 Cash Games Pot Limit Omaha Omaha is both a fun and exciting and at the same time potentially heart-breaking game and understanding and preparing for the big swings that are inherent to the game is vital. In this article, we’ll run through some of the suggested bankroll requirements for particular Omaha games and show you how a carefully adopted and prudent approach to bankroll management can save you a great deal of heartache and ensure you are... This, coupled with the natural volatility of Omaha means you can expect a rough ride from lady luck if you are brave enough to make Omaha tournaments your staple game but as before, employing good bankroll management will give you a vital weapon... To buffer yourself against these volatile waves of variance, it is suggested you have in the region of 40 buy-ins at the smaller buy-in tables. We suggest 100 average buy-ins as a good guideline figure when playing Omaha tournaments.
Here are a few examples (I made 1 myself at the weekend, see if you can guess which ):. Posting an item with a buyout price that is much lower than the market value (and not realising before the 5 minute RMAH grace period passes) Posting an item... Tagged as: Diablo 3 Auction House Tip , Diablo 3 Avoid AH Limit , Diablo 3 Buying From Yourself , diablo 3 gold guide. Personally, I think the most powerful application of this technique (and it’s a problem you’ll nearly always be able to rectify) is when you reach your auction house limit of 10 with ‘meh’ items. When you are at your limits like this in any endeavour you are more likely to make a few mistakes. working at a speed near your limit. Obviously people will sell them and with increased amounts of yellow items in RMAH logically thinking it will bring down the average price of that item class. I was listening to Diablocast and there they talked about yellow items (I don`t remember if they were rare or legendary or what not) which will drop from every boss in your first playthrough – one random item and the other one for your class. Salvage those average items and fill the free slots with the better selling items (like “Lucky Shoulders of the Hawk” say) at a better price. It might be hard to buy items that are very underpriced (before others do). But, depending on the scale of your mistake (measure scale in potential profit loss) it’s definitely a technique worth trying.
CCRs may contain a provision preventing second story or other additions, limiting tree heights, or protecting views. A deed restriction could limit the height of any structure or tree, or explicitly protect a view. Or many parts of the county have a 30-foot height limit, so this may also prevent another story.

The bill limits purchases of the non-prescription drug to 3.6 grams a day and 7.2 grams a month. The current limit is 9 grams a month. The bill also would cut the annual purchase limit to 60 grams. The current limit is 108 grams.
