A Sweet Movie
View From the Top is not as bad a many people would have you believe. In fact, it's quite entertaining. First of all, don't take it seriously, because it's just a fluff romantic comedy. If you keep that in perspective, you'll really enjoy this film.The story is centered around Donna, a woman from the trailer parks of Nevada who hopes to escape from the type of life her mother leads. She thinks she has found the ticket in the high school quarterback who promises to take her places, but in the end, he dumps her. In a fit of depression, she ends up watching daytime TV in a bar, and she sees the interview of a famous flight attendant. Her dreams take off from there as she struggles to make her dreams come true.The only weak point in this film is Mike Meyers who places the flight attendant trainer. Some of his jokes fall flat and at times it seems he is recycling some of his Dr. Evil character. Other than that, I think you'll enjoy this. Perfect for a lazy...

Shhh, don't tell anyone
I read a review of this movie when it came to the theaters that just completely tore it apart from oepning frame to closing. Thus, I avoided seeing it for all of the right reasons. However, the genre of film is one of my boyfriend's favorites, and as a favor to him, rented this little movie for a quick Saturday afternoon's entertainment. What I found was a quirky, fun, funny movie that, if you don't take it all too seriously, you can seriously warm to.Gwyneth Paltrow plays Donna, a girl with stars and the skies in her eyes. Donna longs for a better life than her small town girlhood in Silver Springs. Hooking up with a small commuter airline, Donna starts her career in the air. In one short but pivotal scene, she is dissed by a trio of snooty flight atttendants, which fires her upward. Soon, she moves up to a major airlines, but first, has to endure the training process, run by the ever funny Mike Meyers. Fun Movie (forget bad reviews). Made Me Laugh & Feel Good!
Gwyneth Paltrow was great as Donna, the main character who dreams of one day being an international flight attendant. Maybe this wasn't her best role, but I certainly enjoyed her performance. The other characters were all good too: Christina Applegate, Candice Bergen, Kelly Preston, Mark Ruffalo (Donna's future boyfriend), and Rob Lowe (although he was only in a few scenes). The characters I liked the best were the gay flight attendant and Mike Myers (that was a nice surprise after being tired of his "Austin Powers" gags). The weakest part about this movie was probably the script, which could have been better. Still the actors made the most of what material they were given, and I was pleasantly surprised by the movie in general. I laughed and felt good walking out of the theater. Who could ask for anything more?

Five shorts; all with their own surprises. Not always 'happy ending's, not always the greatest acting, yet they all held their own. And all for different reasons. Gay/lesbian films are always a toss up; you never know if you'll feel good for watching it. This was a smart, sexy, sometimes sad, selection. I don't regret watching it!

Better then I expected .... and this is from a real lesbian!
I wasn't really expecting much because so many LGBT films are so low budget and usually not that good. But my girlfriend and I were pleasantly surprised. It's several short films. The first was the best, about a high school experience I think almost every gay girl goes through. The second was my least favorite. But the rest were all pretty good. Decent quality. Good story lines and over-all enjoyable. A lot of lesbians will be able to relate to some of these stories.

Prepare for suspense with a twist!
Rachel's novel is a page turner from the very first chapter! 'The View from Here' is a riveting tale that demonstrates the complexities of our relationships while exploring the inner turmoil of remorse. A love story and a spine tingling ghost story all at the same time; this novel effectively delves into the bonds of love, loyalty, friendship and betrayal.It isn't difficult to empathize with Nicole, the main character in this novel. She is seeking resolution and absolution following the disappearance of her husband, while dealing with a torment which is almost too much for her to endure. She is plagued by supernatural events that are exacerbated by overmedication and exhaustion, while her friends endeavor to assist her through the ordeal. This well crafted and descriptive narrative will have you on the edge of your seat in suspense!

A surprise from the beginning! Full of heart and suspense.
One of the best things about 'e-books' is that it opens a marketplace for unknown Authors who may not have the big budget publishers promoting their talents. Rachel Howzell was unknown to me anyway and I'm glad to have made her acquaintance with this book. She breathes life into her characters in such a way that you feel you are having a conversation, she deals with the complexities of love and marriage and grief with grace, insight and humor. I try not to read reviews or even descriptions of a book too carefully before I dive in - and that's how I began this book, no expectations. I was swept in and thoroughly engaged throughout and reveled in the discovery of the story as well as the Author. I would like to say that I'm a bit confused as to why this book would be labeled as "African-American Fiction" because that label could be seen as limiting (as most labels are). I didn't find the story or characters to be uniquely black, the themes are universal! Read it - you won't be...

Great stylus for Draw Something!
I have to admit that I had low expectations because they were so cheap, but I was definitely wrong. I used a $20 stylus from the Apple store for drawing things and liked it, so I was skeptical about these cheapy ones. But I figured $15 was a decent price and I wanted a lot so I could give some to family and friends, therefore I ordered them. But once I started using these stylus I actually liked them better than the $20 one I had been using for the Draw Something App. Ive been using these guys non-stop now and may even buy another batch soon. I gave away probably 10 of these things and everyone loves them. If you are considering a stylus for your iphone or even android phone for drawing these things are perfect AND ACCURATE! Nothing but great things to say about this product. If you have friends buy this pack and give some of them away so you can play each other in Draw Something.

Don't Let Your New Kindle Go Naked
Walking around with an uncased Kindle is a little bit like going to a wedding in jeans and a t-shirt. It's not illegal but who does it? You need something to protect your Kindle and maximize its functionality.I purchased this rooCase to go with my new Kindle Fire because I noticed that it was much less expensive than the Marware case that Amazon had been promoting. The case is not perfect but for the price I feel it is a good deal. It offers everything I could want: functionality, protection for my Kindle and a good price.Quality: The quality is pretty good. The leather does not appear to be quite as good as the leather that is on my lighted Kindle cover for my Kindle keyboard. But it is still respectable and does not look cheap.Functionality: Here is where this case really shines. Most of the other cases can only stand the Kindle fire horizontally. Pretty good, but feels pretty cheap
Customer Video Review Length:: 2:25 MinsThis case is not bad, but the materials feel extremely cheap. I guess that is to be expected at this price, but just know that going in. The best feature and the biggest problem comes from the removable velcro piece. The velcro collects a lot of dust, fuzz and hair and it is often difficult to get it to stand in the right place. It takes a lot of trial and error. Very frequently (unless you put the case back in just right) it is difficult to close and the magnets do not grip very well. Overall, not a bad case... but there is a lot of room for improvement.***Edit***I found a case that I like much better it is . It is a one piece rotating design and I just like the overall quality better. Since this is a black product, I will link to it in black...
