It does its job... at a rather high price.
This does exactly what it is supposed to do: Charge the Zune. I'm not sure if you could use it to charge an ipod or any other device with a USB charging mechanism though. Also it's rather expensive considering that it's doesn't come with a sync cable (Apple's official one doesn't either, but there are third party AC adapters that are just as good that do). It IS rated for 100 - 240V input, so it should work outside the US as long as you have an American style two prong outlet.EDIT: While I'm sure this is common knowledge you could use this to charge your ipod. Though a bit bigger than Apple's charger it's not quite as wide and as such may work better in an outlet. Plus its frosted black looks better than stark white.EDIT 2: I've used this thing to charge Bluetooth headsets, cameras, Sansas, portable hard drives, and even an old Palm Z22. Other than the Zune name on the package, this is simply an adaptor that plugs into the wall and provides a standard USB outlet on the other side. You can connect ANY USB device or cable into the USB outlet for charging purposes.There are dozens of no-name, off brand adaptors that do the same thing on the market, but this was is of MUCH higher quality than most/all of those. Trust me: You don't want an el-cheapo no-name unit. They produce unstable voltage and can ruin your device. This is a better designed unit. Is it worth the $30 list price? No. But at the bargain closeout price that it's being offer for her (three dollars as of the time of this writing), it's a steal.I have no problem asserting that for that money, this is the best quality AC-> USB adaptor you can buy.Just remember that if you actually DO want to use this to charge your Zune, you'll also need to buy the Zune sync cable (sold separately, or included with Zune originally).

Zune charger
It does the job. It charges the Zune from an electrical outlet without needing to be connected to a PC or XBox 360. As noted earlier, you do need the sync cable to connect the Zune to the charger. It seems a little over-sized for what it is, but then this matches the fact that it's over-priced.

Voltage Regulation is a Big Plus
Unlike all the other universal DC supplies I've seen, this one is voltage regulated. This means there's a semiconductor control that keeps the voltage constant across a wide range of loads. Without regulation, the voltage of a DC supply will only be correct when it's providing its rated current output. If the load is less, the voltage will rise and could damage the device being powered.The supply is rated for 1200mA and can run on AC at 100 to 240 volts. Under a 580mA load on the 12v setting the voltage fell from 12.06v to 11.82v. On the 6v setting it fell from 5.68v to 5.48v. This is pretty good. With the regulation, there's no risk of damaging the device being powered, as long as you set the voltage and plug polarity properly.Compared to another of my universal supplies, this one causes a bit less buzz when powering a little self-amplified speaker. I had to hold the speaker right up to my ear to hear the noise.Since it's a switching power supply...

2.55% voltage output variance. More than good enough!
This is light weight unlike other cheap adapters. Weighs about the same as an ordinary cellphone charger. Approximate dimension: 7.5cm x 4.8cm x 3.5cm.Output voltage measured 9.22V~9.23V while selector was set at 9V and input current at 119.2V to 119.6V. This is an impressive ~2.55% variance (without considering the fact that the input voltage was not exactly 120V). A new 9V alkaline battery measures 9.29V.

It works! Cool!
I bought this to replace the one that came with my router. My wireless router's original adapter goes really hot in use. Since I needed to keep it on everyday, I was afraid that it would explode and burn my house someday. This one works pretty well, the temperature keeps in a normal range and it is adjustable for other products.

Great adapter
I purchased two of these adapters to provide continuous power to the two Petmate Le Bistro Portion-Control Automatic Pet Feeders that I recently purchased from Amazon. The 600 ma (milli-amps)of current is sufficient to run many small devices, and the 7 different tips will adapt to many products (just make sure to insert the tip to get the proper polarity, or you may blow out the device you're powering, or at least blow a fuse). The ability to change voltage settings makes this product very versatile, as you can choose from 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9,and 12 volts, DC (VDC). In my case, I needed 4.5 VDC at 600 ma to run the pet feeders, because the product vendor does not list the adapter on their website, yet their manual directs you to the website to buy one. A quick search of Amazon brought me to this product. Amazon's excellent customer service, and fast, free shipping served me well once again!1-6-12 Update: Both adapters are still doing their job with the Petmate feeders...

Perfect for My Needs
Went to Radio Shack to look for a universal adapter for my daughter's little BeBop CD player. They were charging like $30 just for the adapter and then you had to buy the tip separately. Wasn't sure how much that was but probably another $10. Searched here and bought based on reviews. This works great. Voltage selection is a great feature and the multiple tips are great. There is no noticeable heat coming from the unit. Finding the right polarity is important but not complicated at all if you know how to read. You match the symbols on your device with what is in the instructions and you are good to go.Great price, arrived quickly, and is working perfectly. Another great Amazon purchase for me.

Great Universal Charger
This charger is designed for laptop batteries, so don't worry about being anemic on the power. The selector switch can pick 15, 16, 18, 18.5, 19, 19.5, 20, 22 and 24 volts power. Not only that, but there is a device to lock your selection so the switch doesn't accidentally move and fry your device. That is awesome!After I received it, I discovered that the input voltage can vary all over the place, 120v, 240v, it really doesn't matter and the electronics sense the voltage supplied to the device. You can take this puppy to Europe, Africa, South America, just switch the standard input plug and you're good to go!There are plenty of different output plugs to fit just about anything. I am very impressed with this great charger and doubly impressed by the price. The only thing that does not impress me is that the rating above asked me to rate the charger's battery life. That's food for thought...Buy one. You won't be disappointed.

Very good for the money, some info on what models work w/ this product
I have had this adapter about a month. I buy and refurbish laptops as a hobby and wanted a universal adapter for those occasions when I buy a laptop that doesn't have one. I thought I would list how well it worked with the brands and models that I currently am working on. It worked fine with three different Acer Aspires (5100, 5735z, 5515, presumably it would work with most Aspires, but not sure), Acer Extensas (4420 and 4630z), Acer Aspire One, IBM Thinkpad 43p (probably would work with the 40,41, 60, etc.), HP TX1000 (should work for the TX2000), NX6110 and the related models. By the way the adapter of my very old NX6110 has worked on 80% of the laptops I have tried it on. HP DV9700 (non-working mobo, but the light around the power jack came on and it started to power on before restarting) and the Dell Mini. This power adapter does not work on the HP G60 series (I would guess it also doesn't work with the CQ60 series and maybe later G**s and CQ**s.) also did not work on a Dell...

Flexible, but not as comprehensive as advertised
This adapter offers a variety of tips and a variety of voltages. There is a switch that can be used to set the voltage, some rubber inserts that will keep the switch in any give position, and a rubber cover for the switch, making the rubber inserts unnecessary. I don't know why they bothered giving both, but it can't hurt.The power supply is as accurate as you could expect for its design. The output will be in proportion to your AC voltage, which will vary a bit from place to place. If you look at the picture (enlarge as much as possible) you will see a switch that shows available voltages. The instructions list others, such as 19 volts, that are not really there. What they should be telling you is that the device is suitable for 19V uses, since electronic devices have a degree of tolerance. Flexible & Easy to Use
The six commonly used power tips provide flexibility with this product. I purchased this to use as an interface between a CD Walkman player and the AC power cord. The heads have specific polarity; so it is possible to attach the heads incorrectly. However, if you pay attention to the plus and minus hookups as indicated, it's not too difficult to make the attachment correctly the first time. I found the product to work effectively. The only negative I can see is that the actual plug-in device is a bit bulky; so if you want to use this in a power strip setting, the AH3WH can be a bit of a plug hog. However, other than that limitation, the product was reliable. Recommended to save on those batteries which do add up!

BOTTOM LINE: Although I got what I wanted, I would be very reluctant to use this adapter for anything sensitive (e.g., laptop) but it seems fine for toys or other low-end electronics.I bought this product in replacement for a similar one that ceased to function after falling off a workbench. This adapter only contained six different power tips (as compared to the 16 provided by the other product), and did not contain the one that I needed. Luckily, I was able to reuse a power tip from the previous product.There is apparently no industry standard for these power tips, so you are taking a guess whether this particular product will fit your needs. It may show up and have no tip you can use.There is nothing on the power tips to indicate what they are (e.g., 5 mm outer barrel by 2.5 mm inner barrel).While the documentation did provide clear instructions on ensuring correct polarity (be SURE to get this right), there is no possible way to...

It works...
I recently bought a weather radio that did not come with a power cord, so I purchased this one. The product works, I would caution you on one thing. The prongs for each tip are stuck through a piece of hard plastic. When I opened it up, I eyeballed the correct tip and tried to get it out first. Unfortunately, I had the right tip, and broke off one of the prongs. It still works I just have to prop it up against something. The tip doesn't fit perfectly, so I'm not sure if I'm having to apply pressure because the tip doesn't fit or to hold the prong in place.So...to get the rest of the tips out I used a butter knife to push them through on the side of the prongs, instead of pulling the tips.

I didn't read the instructions before using this charger! Who does?? Well... BIG MISTAKE! I ended up ruining my device. I bought this charger to replace the charger I lost for my . Because I inserted the tip into the plug using the wrong polarity and voltage, I fried my baby video monitor. I eventually fixed the monitor, but one of the buttons stopped working on it permanently due to power overload and it no longer works if it's not connected to the charger. AFTER I read the instructions, I set the tip to the right polarity and voltage and the monitor charges.I'm so mad at myself, but it's not the charger's fault!
