Great product!
My Dad is fine sitting down and walking, but the transition between the two was starting to get a bit scary and wobbly. I found this product and even though he balked when I brought it over, he has found it very helpful. My brother came over and did some fine tuning so it was very steady and it has indeed helped my Dad get up from his "sittin' chair" with better confidence. He no longer has to carry the tv tray around, since he can just swing this one away and he doesn't complain about losing his crossword pencil anymore. It's also a good looking unit. We're all very pleased with the Standers Able Tray.

Helpful and Aesthetically Pleasant Able Tray!
I am impressed by the high quality and superior appearance of this assist. Many medical products are functional, but ugly eyesores. This is not one of those. It looks right at home with my leather couch and Brazillian hardwood floors and is not immediately recognizable as a medical or assistive device. I experience bouts of immobility and pain due to a back injury, so being able to sit in the same chair to eat, use my computer and watch television or read is a huge plus for me. I hate being stuck in bed during the day and this product has helped lessen that. It works very well to lean on or pull against when rising from my chair and as a balance and stability support when I sit down. This is definitely a five star purchase for me!

Works pretty well for what it is
I guess I am in the minority, but I actually didn't buy this to help me out of chairs, I bought it as a permanent laptop desk for my recliner. In that function, it works pretty well, but there are a few improvements I'd like to see.- The desk needs to be bigger. I can fit a 15" laptop on it with no problem, but it covers up the drink holder. I'd like both.- The feet need to be longer. It won't properly adjust to fit under both feet of my recliner, so it isn't as sturdy as it should be.

I LOVE THIS TRAY!
I had surgery recently and was looking for something to help me get myself up without ripping out my stitches. The Tray not only helps me get up but it is an amazing addition to my living room. I LOVE using the tray for my laptop and I can also use it as a TV Tray for eating. When I want to get up, I just push it away, around to the side of my chair and I can use the handle to pull myself up. It is so well made and strong feeling and it even looks beautiful with the lovely brown color and the real wood tray.

Laptop Stand
I purchased this to fit under my reclining chair for a laptop stand.It's great! Extremely sturdy. Recliner legs anchor the stand down. Adjustable height and angle of the table. Very easy to put together.The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars is that the handle is so big, it makes it unattractive. If you needed it to assist you in getting up from the chair, it would be great, but I think the company should market one with a small cap to replace the handle as a laptop stand.

Would recommend
My 89 year old mother doesn't move well, has failing health, and spends a lot of time sitting in her recliner to either read, watch tv and even eat these days. The assist a tray has enabled her to keep drinks, papers, and medicines within easy reach. Several people have asked where she got the "unique" tray. Though we did have a little problem setting it up under her recliner because the recliner doesn't have individual feet like the picture shows and the depth of the seat is shorter than the shortest length of the base, we were able to make it stable enough that it is an asset for her.

Great Idea!
This is a very well-made tray and it is heavy. My dad uses this tray every day and it fits the recliner he uses; the slide trays do not work on this particular recliner. I do wish you could adjust it up or down slightly, but you can't. However, the height is okay for him. We don't move the tray because it is heavy, but someone with a little more strength could move it easily. A little expensive until you lift it out of the box...it will last a lifetime and then some!!! Great product!!!

It makes me happy when skies are grey
With over a decade mated to multiple sclerosis, and the last four years a full-time wheelchair user, I can't overemphasize how important this little doodad is to my relative autonomy. With little sense of balance, but decent remaining upper body strength, this, my transfer board and a little prayer allows me to do an unassisted transfer. Even if your upper body strength is weakened, the BedCane will give you and your caregivers some needed help. I use it on a standard full-sized bed with a headboard... a squishy mattress and low half bedrail hospital bed hindered more than helped. Best of fortune to you and your loved ones.

Help at Last!
We ordered this adjustable rail just in time! My mother fell the next week and fractured her back. This rail is well made, sturdy--neat in appearance,fits well on a craftmatic-type adjustable bed, and can be dropped below the side for easy reach to the patient or loved one. Also, elderly people often have little strength in their hands and mother has no difficulty in pushing the buttons to extend the rail for added safety.

Help with exiting a vehicle.
Since having back surgery exiting a vehicle has been a problem for me. I have tried several products to aid me in this task. The problem was so bad, that I had to trade vehicles to find one that is easier on me. I now have a full size Mercury Grand Marquis, they don't come any larger than that in my price range.Even after all that, I was still having a problem. I will note that the typical assist handle in most vehicles provides no assistance at all in exiting the vehicle. This is because they are inside the vehicle and can not be used to help exiting unless you are double jointed.I did a lot of research and it came down to the "Handybar" or an assist strap that temporarily install through an open window and wraps around the door frame. The problem with the latter is that you need assistance to safely use it. Someone must be there to prevent the door from closing when you put weight on the strap. A handybar that works
I needed something to assist my mother in getting out of the car. We tried a different type of bar which worked ok but occassionally slipped. I bought this one hoping that it wouldn't slip and it didn't on my Nissan Altima so it's much better than the competition for my car.
