After a lot of research, bet on this one - and I love it!
A little research pays off! This was my first air purifier purchase. Originally, I was going to buy an ionic one. But, I was amazed once I started researching how little I knew!In case you're in the same boat, Here's the criteria I ultimately set, ratings for this model on the criteria, and my experience with it:CRITERIA #1: Must noticably reduce our allergies, clear smoke and odors: 5+ Stars!Have had it two months with a smoker, a hairy dog, and allergy season in full bloom. Works Great, Quiet, Excellent Product for your money!!
Given that there weren't many reviews out when I bought this purifier, I figured I'd take a minute and give a brief review of it after having used it for a few weeks.Out of the box:It's a very lightweight machine that has a very elegant/professional look to it. The "Flow, Timer, and Power" buttons feel a little like cheap plastic, but it's really not a big deal, nor does it diminish the look of the purifier.In Action:When I first started it up, I heard a little bit of "static" noise coming from the ionizer, as it was possibly collecting the dust that was in the packaging that it was shipped in. Within a minute, that noise was gone, and it has been operating very smoothly and quietly for the last few weeks. I live in a house with central air, and the air quality is pretty good, but since I have bad allergies, I wanted to get a purifier. To be honest, I'm not sure if I can tell the difference, if any, it has made in improving the air...

Ultra Load
It's bigger than it looks in the pictures: Stands about thigh-high. This put me off at first...but then I plugged it in.First impression: It's not doing anything.After two days: I want to have it's babies.I have allergies...miserable miserable allergies, and I just moved back to maryland during the worst allergy season I've seen in years.To a house with three smokers. And Two Dogs. And Two Cats. This house has clutter (re: dust) and mold and four plants in the livingroom and old carpets. It has old furniture and crummy filters but it DOES have ceiling fans!This house is allergy hell.and this purifier?...Ah...I swear I can breathe again. It cleans up the air (auto setting rocks!) of the entire 500 sq/ft first floor from *awful* to *clear* in roughly 20 minutes, and if it's running constantly, it never gets intolerable. Finally an Air Purifier that brings the "Goods"
I purchased this unit a month ago after an extensive search for the "perfect" purifier at a good price. I went through the " I don't know about this brand blues" or " look at the price " comparing the others makes and models.But I was sold when I called the company and talk to customer service after viewing the "you tube" presentation, they were honest and answered every question I had, I also like that I could return it no question ask if I didn't like it. The unit has more bang for the buck than any units I compared it to, and really their was no other unit that could match the combo of purification it has. This unit has 9 stages not 1 or 2 like the store brands. Well the unit arrived quick and setup was easy I was afraid it would be loud compared to what I heard at the stores but to my surprise it was perfect on "auto" and like all the reviewers are stating you will notice the difference in hours if not minutes this machine really works. I would buy again !

Skeptical at first but this is a great product.
To tell you the truth I was pretty skeptical of this machine at first. I had never heard of the company. They are not one of the major air purifier companies, etc. But I have been proven wrong. This product is great! We've had ours running almost 24 hours a day for about nine months. It is quiet. It takes a ton of dust out of the air. It is easy to clean. What else could you want? The shipping was fast. Customer support people answer the phone and are friendly. They have short YouTube videos giving you really easy instructions on how to clean. I love this machine. If you're looking for a air purifier, I think you're going to love this one. We do.

Best value,QUIET, HIGH performance air purifier
This air purifier has CURED my house's stuffy smell, lessened the amount of dust and staying at home isn't giving me headache anymore because of the non-fresh air!! When I come home everyday from outside I would smell a dull & stuffy scent, and I consider myself to be very clean and cleanse my house daily. But was it still not enough? Was it something invisible in my house that is making the stuffy smell and damaging my health without I realizing it? After everything I tried, vacuum daily, open windows, change garbage bag daily etc, I finally went to research for the cure for root of the troubles. I have found that every households that has carpet or pets are most likely infected with dust mites and I found that molds are also damaging to our health since both of those harmful substances can lead to asthma once breathed in or skin irritations if get in contacted!! Very Pleased
Shopping for the right air cleaner in my opinion is more of a challange than shopping for a new car. I studied most all of them and found that there are many con-games going on with cleaver advertise schemes. I ended up purchasing both Newport 9000 and the Sharp FP-N60CX because I couldn't decide. And I love both. It has been six months and they are on all the time -- contineous. I have four large dogs, the air is fresh and my girfriend with dog allergies is doing fine. I have found both reliable economical and working as advertised. I use the Newport in the larger living-room and the Sharp in the bedroom. They both appear to be on the leading edge of technology sampling the air and automatically adjust. Both are operating in the automatic mode day and night -- noise is not a problem. Perfectly Satisfied.

AMAZING product, recommended for all
This product is awesome. I don't care about what they say regarding noisy air purifiers, or large or whatever. This product beats it all. First it has 4 speeds and an auto mode, when it on medium or high it's almost as comparable to a regular fan, but still not as noisy as an A/C. Also it's REALY QUIET on quiet speed, believe me you won't hear a thing (maybe the white noise a little). Then There's awesome looking shape of it. It looks nice so it'll go well with your furniture. Then there's the amazing power of purifying the air. It utilizes a 9 stage system for filtering, believe me it works. I smoke cigars, and turn this beast on to get rid of the smoke, so that my wife doesn't get on my case. After running for 8 hours on high no cigar smoke or smell at all. THIS IS GOOD PEOPLE, I'm talking about cigars here not cigarettes, or cooking or pet odor. A Great but not Perfect Job
REVISED:Having lived with these (I bought 3 of them to place strategically throughout the house), I can still recommend them. They do a very good job. Filter life is very good and cleaning is not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. That said, the light to tell me to clean them comes on much sooner after each cleaning now than when the units were new. Possibly I'm not as thorough cleaning as I should be? Also, I said they were quiet enough to sleep with them on and that's still true. BUT, the blue light they emit is distracting; I still need to turn them off at night. But not an issue. I would buy this unit again.THE ORIGINAL REVIEW:I bought this mostly to deal with the smell of my wife's cigarette smoke. I knew that a unit like this would not make the smell of smoke completely go away, but it does a pretty decent job of it. I thought the air smelled fresher, but I'm too used to the smell. Friends tell me that they still smell...

Surround air replacement bulb
I Love my air purifier it was the one that seem to do the most for the least amount of money and require the least maintenance. The replacement bulb and filter cost about $30 a year but it is well worth it to keep the machine well maintained and working properly. I wake up in the morning, my sinus is clear and I have no headache and that is a beautiful thing.

Ultraviolet light possesses just the right amount of energy to break organic molecular bonds. As microorganisms pass by the UV rays radiated from the ultraviolet lamp, this bond breakage translates into cellular or genetic damage for microorganisms, such as germs, viruses, bacteria, fungi (like molds), etc. This resulted in the destruction of the microorganisms. The same damage occurs to humans, but is limited to the skin and eyes. UV air purifiers, such as the Multi-Tech XJ-3000C from Surround Air, shield direct ultraviolet light from escaping the inside of the unit, sterilizing only the air that passes through the air cleaner. The Centers of Disease Control (CDC) recommends the use of ultraviolet light with simultaneous use of HEPA air filters, both of which are offered in the Multi-Tech XJ-3000C air purifier. The U.S. government now specifies that UV light should be used in air handling units to improve indoor air quality in government buildings, by controlling airborne and surface microbial growth. The Air Institute of Respiratory Education suggests UV lights be used in buildings for indoor air quality purposes, and states that may be the final line of defense against those diseases that have developed resistance to drugs, such as tuberculosis and others. Excellent in large and small spaces
What a great product. Very resonable price with every type of air cleaner/purifier stacked on top of each other. We've been using it for a little over a month now and its great! It removes smoke, odors, the works. I am actually looking forward to spring this year to see how it does with all of the pine pollen we get.

Quiet!
It is very quiet, and it appears to work really well on odors. If I cook or use disinfectant to clean, it turns itself to a higher setting and gets rid of the smell.However, I was hoping it would eliminate dust, which it does not appear to do. I have just as much dust on my furniture as I did before I bought it. And I bought it because I can't stand the dust.I did not buy this for any other reason other then dust control, which I am not getting, therefore I am not happy. If I bought it for other reasons, I would be totally satisfied.
